Oh yeah and we are just getting started!

Do you still remember that on the 8th of January, we rounded off this year's edition of the annual #ProsperityChallenge -an intensive, mobile-based Prosperity Optimization coaching program for Bravehearts worldwide.

The world's most important challenge.

Of all the critical challenges our world is faced with, poverty has taken the centre stage. The United Nation's Number 1 sustainability goa is to end poverty in all its form everywhere. Even the World Bank Group's mission carved in stone at its Washignton headquarters reads: "Our dream is a world free of poverty". Undoubtedly, tackling poverty as a human issue is not just the fight of a few multinational entities, nation-states -particularly the developing economies who need to improve citizens' standards of living, as well as private individuals and families across the globe are daily grappling with how to beat poverty and live their dreams.

But the truth is...

However, as much as the rate of inequality increases almost on a daily basis, it is imperative to know that the human race is not in a poor earth. Imagine our world being filled more than 70% with water, yet, many communities worldwide do not have access to drinkable water. It's clearly not a dearth of resources. Abundance is everywhere and much more so in an age of increased dematerialization, demonetization and democratization.

Unfortunately, our inability -individually and collectively -to discover, master and optimize resources in most instances leads to zero sum games and a continuous, viscious cycle of needless poverty.

Also, past efforts have often concentrated on alleviating or eradicating poverty when we should radically change perspective from working against poverty to working for prosperity. Unfortunately, this approach have not delivered real emancipation, instead, handouts and aids have further driven poor people and poor nations poorer because poverty is not just the absence of means but more often a mindset of lack.

Bringing the point home

Year on year, developing nations like Nigeria (Africa's largest economy) sits at the bottom of the Legatum Prosperity Index, an annual ranking of 142 countries, deveveloped based on a variety of factors including entrepreneurship and opportunity, wealth, economic growth, education, health, safety and security, personal well-being, social capital and quality of living.

Furthermore, technological disruptions and governments inability to meet budgetary requirements is leading to monumental rates of youth unemployment in both developed and developing countries.

If nothing is done fast, the world risks an implosion and a situation whereby the poor will have nothing else to eat but the rich.

It's time for 'prosperity paradigm'

It's high time for a paradigm shift if we are going to improve on historical 'achievements' in our quest to help more people break the poverty code. It's time to think differently because if we change the way we see things, then, we can change the things we see. Whatever brought us here won't take us into the future.

I once told Warren Buffet [in a tweet] that we will need more than the 'Giving Pledge' to help more people across the world get out of poverty and live their dreams.

First, we must stop going in the direction of 'what we don't want' and start heading in the direction of 'what we truly desire'. A sage once remarked that he is 'not against' war but he is 'for peace'. We can take a cue from this truth.

Instead of alleviating or eradicating poverty, why not let's creatively collaborate to develop prosperity. This, I believe, is a worthy 'shared vision' for every citizen of our world.
