I am completely 100% in agreement with this comment about TeamMalaysia. I have lived in many countries and cities, and this is the most welcoming place I have ever been in my life. I am also not Malaysian, but I landed here in August and have been so well taken care of by everyone. I have met most of the people @nomadicsoul has mentioned and also want to mention a few others who have helped this old Canadian lady feel completely at home in a new country.
@iamjadeline and @happycrazycon swooped in to save me when I was at a hostel downtown in Kuala Lumpur and helped me figure out the food, found me a more permanent place to live, helped with my phone, took me shopping, and bring me food and supplies still to this day.
@josephinengpy helped me move, and helps me constantly in many ways. So now, I live in a wonderful neighborhood close to many friends. @khimgoh has had me over for lunch, gave me a transit card, filled it up, and gave me all kinds of useful information to improve my steemit presence.
Not one of them had even heard of me before I got here - they just helped when I arrived!
On top of all of this help, I got to be a member of the team almost immediately upon arrival. "You are staying here? OK - you are in!"
Last week I was invited to the debut of @danielwong's new "Lasagna Burger" at the food truck and there were so many steemers there! I already knew many of them from other meetings and got to know so many others I had only seen online. This was not the first time I have eaten at the truck and it is fantastic every time.
TeamMalaysia has a key feature I have not seen anywhere else. They actively reach out to other groups on steemit to tie us more closely together. This works so well and is seen in the weekly online chat that often has steemers from other groups to let us know what is going on in other niches of steemit.
As a side note and very important here, my upvotes and engagement of my posts is much improved now. There are many TMer's on my posts now, but a few I see frequently not already mentioned are @KAERpediem @Alimamasstory and @elizacheng.
I know I am missing many people who mean a lot to me now and for that I apologize.
I am on a lot of good teams here on steemit and many deserve attention for all the help they give. But TeamMalaysia has a special place in my heart and I hope WE get to win.
I also give my vote to @nomadicsoul who I see so often working hard on steemit. I think you can tell by the comment that you have someone worthy of a prize.
Congrats on your accomplishments, @leotrap. this was an excellent idea for a contest. I have it bookmarked for further reading :)
Wow @fitinfun, can I meet TeamMalaysia? hahaha
But for reals, I know if I didn't belong to this team, I am not sure how long I would have lasted on Steemit.
They — we (that includes you now ;p) are not bad at all hahaha
Thank you so much @fitinfun
