I have recently been involved with many discussions back and forth with people about the whole #steem and #tron business. There are many different opinions, and each is as valid as the next. For as many different people that use the blockchain, there are that many perspectives. I don't believe this is as easy as many people might think, and I am for sure that there is more going on than the general public knows (on both sides).
Through some of my talks it has become pretty clear what might be needed. A free market. This entire dramatic performance is taking place on blockchains that people have chosen to use. Some have chosen to use Tron, and some have chosen to use Steem. No matter which one it was, someone chose it.
There was no one in my life that forced me to make this decision to get involved. I was simply presented with an amazing opportunity that looked different from anything that I have ever been a part of. I jumped in head first, and here I am 2 and a 1/2 years later...and I actually find myself very involved with what is happening.
Some may not always agree with me, but that is what it is all about. I don't look for anyone to agree with me. I'm not asking anyone to agree with me. I'm just asking for people to open their minds, and think for themselves. We all made the decisions that it took to get here, but what decisions to we make next.
It doesn't seem like there are any real ideas out there yet. I guess I could go through some maybes.....
Maybe the ex steem witnesses regain the top 20 and move forward with Justin Sun bankrolling their ideas.
Maybe the ex steem witnesses null the Steemit Inc. stake, and try to move forward on a shoestring budget, with a false sense of victory.
Maybe the ex steem witnesses choose to fork and move forward and start developing from scratch a new chain.
Maybe Justin decides to ram through a hardfork and make the changes anyway, and the community continues to attach each other.
The best, and most civil way that I see this wrapping up is two chains. I'll tell you why.
Like I was saying above there should be a free market. People should be allowed to choose what they want. There is no doubt that the Steem blockchain has some amazing things that have been happening for a long time, and it is clear that it was all being paid for and headed up by Steemit Inc. It was pretty much centralized with 20 "elected" witnesses (the big stakes put them there, not me), and Steemit Inc's wallet. I have watching this place continue to grow and expand and watch the amazing ideas flow out of someones imagination and into the world.
If there were to be multiple chains, one that is completely new and has all the new code and fixed governance and "decentralized", one that is led by Tron into a whole different path. If this were to happen it seems like everyone would get what they want. The ex witnesses could recode a blockchain and fix all of the things that they believe is wrong with the current Steem chain, and Tron could try to push Steemit like another one of it's Dapps.
If this were to happen we would see things start to happen. The free market would start to work. People would start to choose. That way there would be no need for any sort of anger or trolling because everyone would get to choose. I mean, unless people feel the need to tear other people down for making a decision that didn't match their own haha.
I am going to end with a bit of a story about my real life. My family is currently helping on a farm in Northern Michigan. We are actually full time nomads and live on the road, but we are here to help. We will be hitting the road in just about 7 weeks!
When we got here we were told many different things about why certain things were how they were. Sometimes we were just told "well, that's farm life". We worked through many things that "were just farm life", but we quickly learned that things were the way they were because no one wanted to actually make changes.
Our driveway runs from the road to the barn, and the house is on one side while the garage is directly across. The driveway is made of gravel and sand, and is currently a terrible mess. There are low spots and ruts that have be caused from people ignoring them over the years. We inherited a mud hole, because no one ever did anything about it....it was just farm life.
That is not how I see it. We could have just said that it was farm life and ignored it like everyone else.....or.....we could do something about it. Everyone that uses the farm has no issue with the deep mud and the constant water. They just say it has always been that way and they are willing to continue with it that way. So they don't see it as an issue, and no one has actually done anything about it.
Well, that's not how Stacie D (@freedomtowrite) and I think, and we got a chance to make things happen today. We are not content walking in ankle deep mud every time we walk outside. It makes it where we can't even wear tennis shoes out when we want to go to town. So I dug a ditch.

That is how I spent a good part of the afternoon. The temperature finally got warm enough that we could shovel the thawed out sand. There is still way more snow to melt, and we will be ready.
The point of this whole post is two fold. First, I fully support people living there real lives and having real experiences. That is what I post about, and that is what we support with @innerblocks.
Second, sometimes people don't want to change. Sometimes people want things to just be how they have always known them. Maybe if things just continue to move forward without changing, then they would never have to think about the small details. That is what the farmers are doing, and that is what I think some of the Steem users are doing.
There are some of us that are out there that are ready to try something new. We don't want to every leave the Steem universe (a new version or a classic), we may just want different things out of our experience. This shouldn't be seen as an either/or, but it should be seen as and and/both.
Giving someone choices or options is a way that I could foresee everyone being happy with what is going on. Sure this isn't easy. Changes never are. Sometimes changes feel like you are shoveling mud, but sometimes that is what we need to do to quit living in some one else's ideal situation.

The sad thing at the moment is that when people don't agree with your opinion they downvote you. I even saw one guy who suggested to fork the chain and freeze the steem of all people who don't support current witnesses and hostilities toward Tron and sunny boy. Or reward badge s like: I downvoted Justin Sun, etc.

Great post @freedompoint. It is nice to see some real content posts in the Steemit blockchain. Everywhere I look, I see the TRON and Justing bashing posts, full of anger. The voice of reason is missing. We all need to move past that and start putting content on the chain again. Your post is an example that you can still bring value add content, while still giving your opinion on the Justin - Witnesses situation. We can only move forward through dialogue.

Interesting to portray them as farmers because essentially, that's all they're doing is tryin to hang on to their cash cow and keep milking it. Spade is a spade.
