January was an historical month for the Steem blockchain and the website Steemit. These stats compare January 29th to January 1st. As always, I'll start with transactions on the Steem blockchain.
2 million transactions! We broke 2 million last week and peaked at 2,068,341 in a 24 hour period. Compare that to just one month ago's ATH of 1,207,630, a 71% increase in one month. Also, Steem surpassed 1 million transactions on Dec 15th, which took a year and half to achieve, the next million only took a month and a half, this thing is really starting to snowball.
There are 672,626 user accounts compared to 545,000 a month ago, representing a 24% increase. Weekly active users surged 34% to 409,494. January was an amazing month for new user accounts. Steemit averaged 31,815 new accounts per week, at this pace we would add over 1.8 million users in 2018.
The Steem currency's value increased 85% since last month currently trading at $5.64 and contributing to a surge in Steemit posts, up 60% since January 1st, at 1,884,634 posts over the latest week long period.
Steemit's Alexa ranking continues to make strong moves up, showing the popularity surge of the website. Steemit's Alexa rank increased by 498 spots or 30% in one month, now at #1156 worldwide.
I don't know about you guys but Steem/Steemit sure has me excited to be a token holder. I remember a few months back when Steemit would only add a couple hundred new users a day but we're now living the days we'd hoped for with this period of strong growth.
G'day

Wow. Those txn stats against BTC lol. The Alexa rank is bloody impressive!
Hell yea! That's awesome. I didn't see that we finally broke the 2million mark. STEEM transaction rate has been steady climbing! And we are barely utilizing any of the network capacity.
Right you are, only 0.13% capacity!
Go Steam! Always good to see the stats pushing forward, even when the whole market is a bit flat. The slow and steady growth is a good sign for a solid project and I look forward to more updates along the way. Thanks @honeydew2002
