Steem Price Prediction for 2018

in #steem7 years ago

(Steem Price chart according to Blockfolio)

Steem has made an incredible journey from it's pre-1.00 USD days to now the all time high of 8.00 USD!

First off, Congratulations to the SteemIt community as well as Steem HODL-ers!

From those all time high levels, can it go any higher?

What I see is yes. It can.

But for the time being, I do see some months of correction where people are going to take some profits with their Steem (and along with Steem Dollar). We'll need this healthy correction to build a baseline of then next support from which we can catapult onwards and up.

With the huge spike from 3.00 USD to 8.00 USD, the support could fall anywhere in between those levels, so it's really hard to tell what the support will be.

So what can be predicted is the next all time high possibility. I usually get that prediction from looking at the Steem/BTC chart over the one year.

The last time that Steem hit an all time high using BTC value, was back in June 2017 having a value of around 0.00085 BTC. At that time, Steem was around 2.12 USD (with BTC price average around 2,500 USD).

Looking at the Steem/BTC chart from above, Steem is on its way to getting towards the resistance of 0.00085 BTC soon.

0.00085 BTC with today's BTC value of around 15,500 would give it the possibility to get up to 13 USD.

So I think the next target that Steem could theoretically hit is 13 USD. Now that's very much dependent on how long it corrects and the price of BTC, but with a solid platform, I think it's still a good time to continue HODL-ing your Steem!

Anyone else HODL-ing on to your Steem tokens?

Sort:

Hodl and buying the dips until the people here or the blockchain give me reason not to. The future of social media is here as far Im concerned

Yup, SteemIt is better than Facebook :P

Been trying to get all the people that tried to get me onto facebook over the years here. They don't get it yet, but when they do, this thing gonna pop

Haha, we can only do so much to get friends over to the better platform where they can also make some money with their content. Can't do that with Facebook ... Facebook takes on the advertising money. I look at Facebook and think ... OLD and ANCIENT now haha!

was sending out screenshots to my friends of the steem price yesterday for propaganda. I think they are scared of the word crypto

Haha yes, it's fear. They don't understand how this kind of platform can possibly make money. But they also don't understand that the USD is as fake as anything else anyways haha :P

& about to inflate out of control

I sold over 3,000 bitcoins for between $15 and $2000 each. I learned my lesson. HODL!

Yes we've all been through that in one shape or form. That was me when I sold 5,000 EOS when I had bought in at 0.55 and thought 1.25 would be a good time to sell for profit. Then EOS goes to 11.00 LOL ... but yes, HODL :)

and we're just getting started.

I would very much like to power up some more before steem hits the clouds and never comes down again. But as far as I'm concerned, coming to steemit and meeting all these awesome people was already a priceless win.

Still trying to figure out how the price of SBDs is determined. Steem I can imagine, SBDs not so much. You think they will stay around their 8-13 dollar mark or fluctuate as wildly as steem has this week?

That's what I've been figuring out about SBD. I always thought it would stay around the 1.00 USD level. For the longest time, Steem's value would be always higher by slight amount. Then in November, that switched. Then SBD was shooting to the moon while Steem was stuck in the 1.00 USD levels. It's only recent that Steem has spiked and catching up to SBD's value LOL.

Oh wow, that's already a major puzzle piece. Here I was hoping for steem to drop so I could power up more easily (again). I've only been here for a month or so.
But you are telling me this high sbd level is the exception, not the rule, so far.

AWESOME.

Thanks for that ;)
You seem like a multi-talented man, and I'm really glad you put out that art so I could follow ya.

Happy new year dude!

Steem is growing up and i think it's better than to use facebook. I followed you. @hustletoparadise
