I'm going to explain how to hack steem and get the larger rewards.

First, let's start with intrinsic motivation and happiness. (I know this is getting off the "hacking" theme...but who doesn't want to be happy?)
Neil Pasricha states in his book The Happiness Equation that there are two types of motivation.
Intrinsic is internal. You're doing it because you want to. Extrinsic is external. You're doing it because you get something for it.
Guess which gets better performance?
Studies show that when we begin to value the rewards we get for doing a task, we lose our inherent interest in doing the task. Like, we literally lose interest...
He goes on to show numerous studies where people are intrinsically motivated and extrinsically motivated. Those with extrinsic motivation always perform much worse.
Relating This To Steem
You have to do this for YOU. That is intrinsic motivation. You have to love posting and curating other people's content.
Realize that there is value in this platform even if nobody votes for it. This is a free platform on an amazing blockchain for you to use.
Plus steemit.com is providing a beautiful front-end for you to share your posts anywhere publicly.
It's like having your own free blog on the blockchain that other people are hosting for you! No hosting fees. No blogging fees. No fees!
How To Hack The System To Get Big Rewards
OK, we're finally back to this.
However, I already answered most of it.
Focus on intrinsic motivation instead of extrinsic motivation and the quality of your work will soar. And if you have intrinsic motivation, your work will be consistent.
Consistency always wins.
For some reason, I thought it was gonna be a long text explaining some dirty black magic, but I really liked how the shortness is been effective!
Great explanation! Thanks for directing me to this inspirational post! My motivations seemed extrinsic to begin with, hopefully I will be able to focus more on the intrinsic motivation of Steemit blogging and continue to write this time. Happy Steeming!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
