RE: Poloniex steem deposits/withdrawals still not sorted!

in #steem8 years ago

It's unfortunate, poloniex used to be my 'go to' exchange. I'm not sure what their issue is but looks like they're having trouble with Ethereum too now. I wish steem was on more exchanges.....only a matter of time though since we all know how awesome steem is and sooner or later more people will figure that out and it will appear on more exchanges too.

Hopefully Poloniex sorts out their issues soon though...I'd still like to use that exchange for all steem stuff if possible

Sort:

Just use bittrex, I suggest. I bought a bunch of steem on polo earlier today. Then I decided I wasn't prepared for them to fix their IT -- I needed to power up more steem now!! ;). So I just transferred more bitcoin to bittrex bought there, and sold the steem I'd previously bought on polo.

Plus bittrex now offers better opportunities to make money trading now as they keep adding new coins while polo doesn't. And it's newly released coins where most often the big increases are right now from what I've casually observed recently (not scientific).

Haha...you are going to rule the steemit world pretty soon with all your powering up!!! That's awesome :)

Yeah, I think I will have to move over to bittrex soon...just kind of attached to poloniex but they need to get their act together or more people are going to go. I'll give them a bit more time but if it takes too long, I'll have no other choice.

Yes, for sure, the newly released coins definitely offer the greatest opportunities right now. Did you get in on EOS yet? You have a whole year to buy if you haven't yet, but I got in on the first day and it's already up by like 300% or something. That was one of my best purchases ever so far and it stands to get a LOT better!

Yeah, I went a bit crazy there with buying that extra SP. Reason being last year i was really amazed about the potential of the platform but missed out on the mining phase through not making the extra effort...so had zero steem when all the whales were set. So it was a bit of a pipe dream to see if I could slowly move up the rich list by trying to buy small amounts when I could. Anyway, that extra amount there really concludes that dream because it got me just into the top 100 at #99 :). I think it's very likely I will regret it because, I wasn't doing it for technically reasons. Anyway, right now I'm thinking 'screw it', I've been having so much fun on this platform, it's worth it anyway, whatever happens! ;)

Great to hear you got a nice profit from EOS!

The thing is that they had such a different and novel way to do the ICO. And, because they were doing it in a way to try to make it as fair as possible, a lot of people were thinking that the potential for Instant profit when it got listed was not so high. I would have liked to buy a lot more of it, but for this reason went for a lower amount than I would have done otherwise... around $15k. So still a nice profit, but I had more I could have put in. Sold around 20% to make sure I got some profit out of it, and will now just let the rest ride, I think!

Anyway, thanks a lot for your very kind comments - and I wish you the best with your investing strategies!

That's awesome that you got into steemit so early though....I so wish I found out about this a year ago. I can understand where you're coming from though....knowing about it in the early days but feeling like you missed out because you didn't mine when all the other early folks did. Good to hear you've caught up now though and huge kudos to you for making into the top 100! I think there's like close to 200,000 steemit accounts now....so that's no small feat at all!

Only time will tell where it goes and whether you made an awesome move or big mistake....but I tend to think people who got in early here won't regret it....and that includes getting in now since it's still early days.

Well, I didn't actually sell any EOS yet....so no realized profit as of yet but the value jump from when I bought was a nice, unexpected surprise. My plan is to stay in for the mid to long-term (a couple years at least). I'm not a day trader and prefer to take longer positions on any cryptos I invest in. Sounds like you did really well so far on EOS, so good for you!

Thanks, and all the best to you too in your continued crypto investing :)

Thanks a lot for your comment.

I hold a proportion of my portfolio as long term investments. Mostly ERC20 tokens that will hopefully pay some sort of return eventually (like GNT, REP, but loads more). This is unlike mined 'currency' coins such as bitcoin, etc which won't pay out any return but where you hope to gain value through adoption and functioning as an actual currency.

The other part of my portfolio is for trading only. So I'll buy BTC/ETH/ or any of coin when I think it's going to rise, and sell when I think it may have reached a top. (Of course, about half the time I'm wrong...but that's the objective! ;) )

But what's my favourite digital asset right now, and biggest investment: that would be steem power :) Why? Well, it's fun to have a good holding as it gives you a nice influence/power in the system (of course!)..which something like BTC does not provide! ;). Secondly, since I've actually been using steemit for the last few weeks I'm pretty amazed at the return. A nice percentage increase ..... and all I have to is click on the upvote button, and possibly make a few silly posts ;). Nice way to earn an income I'd say (provided the value doesn't completely tank!) :D

Looks like you've got all your bases covered then with both longer and shorter positions.

Yeah, it is super fun.....and of course addictive....in a fun/obsessive kind of way :) This whole steemit thing to some degree reminds me of a game where I'm not actually thinking of taking any money out...I just wanna convert it all to steem power to keep getting more of it....lol. That's why I don't think this system will ultimately fail....I think this is more addictive than Facebook, but in a good way that can give you a return on your investment.

I never thought about becoming a blogger before...until steemit of course....and now I'm like...all in and blogging about just anything I can think of that would be valuable. It's funny how just a little reward system like that can be so motivating...lol. Anyways, steem on and I'm sure I'll be chatting with you again at some time in the near future on future posts :)

Love your comments.

And it's great to hear from another 'believer' in the investment aspect. Sometimes I do wonder myself though if the whole thing actually makes sense (I.e., are the payments sustainable/will they be enough/etc)! I guess no one really knows - it's a complete new and original experiment! But anyway, I'm pretty much fully committed now :)

And actually, I'm the opposite of a social media person, so it's completely weird for me...in fact I'm a bit exhausted with a few weeks of it :-) Still, I keep coming back now to see what's happening! Primarily I was into it for the tech and investment opportunity ... anyway, I'm trying to lean how to approach the social aspect in in some sort of vaguely sane way if possible :)

Best wishes :)
