Wouldn't it be neat, that if you wanted to, you could write one great post and have it pay for your coffee for the day, or your groceries, or even the gas in your car?
What we have, in Steem, is the ability to do so much more than Bitcoin. I had been mining bitcoin via browser, but after a month, I didn't even have 1 dollar to show for it.
However, on a great post, on that I got over 10 sbd, I could make more than that.
But, I've noticed something interesting. Those who write good articles, get no author reward, mainly because the people who upvote them, have no voting power left. However, I've also noticed that even when they got great reviews, they didn't reward the people who voted for them.
By that, I mean they got really great comments, but didn't reward the people for communicating with them.
This is one reason why I try to give my commenters a little bit of something for talking to me. But, just like who I give my upvotes to, the comments have to catch my attention, be original, and actually be worthy of answering. For instance "Good post," doesn't even get my attention, whereas a "I read your post and found it interesting, and I love the way your characters come to life." will catch my attention, and questions about where the story is going that could spark a great debate would definitely get a reward.
It's just like if I like something, I'll upvote it, and give a tip.
Maybe if we started treating people like people, and giving them a reason to communicate could work.
But then, I'm always hopeful.
