An interesting proposal for the future of steemit- An Idea to Sustainably Raise the Longterm Value of SBD

Advertising- I know it's an ugly word, and rightfully so. However what I'm suggesting is much less invasive and frankly, less annoying than traditional methods of advertising such as banners, 30 second ads etc...A short lived advertising campaign of 12-24 hours, comprised of sponsored content and contests. As an added benefit to the advertiser, steemians would be highly receptive to the advertisements, since they occur so infrequently  Once the campaign has completed there will be no more advertising until the next campaign. This could take place once a month, or even less, and would result in adding millions of USD to the steem economy.

  • All revenue generated will go to purchasing steem at market price, thus raising the price of steem.
  • The purchased steem will be converted to steem power and gradually be paid out to steemians based on their level.

I don't think I want to view ads. Maybe we could create a way for people to write ads for different companies and get paid for it. But I don't want to be forced to look at adds. Sorry!!

That's an interesting idea. Sort of a guild.

Could be. I was thinking that perhaps SteemIt could allow bloggers to create ads within their blogs and get paid. However the thing is about that kind of thing is that people become dependant upon it. It gives the greedy system a toe hold and this may be why it isn't done. lol

I think its needed all though ads suck it will increase the value by tons!! It will make the users money as well as the company owners.

Glad you like the idea.

Another suggestion could be just 1 short add a day, think about youtube millions of views a day and they have ads for just about every other video you watch so just ONE A DAY isn't too bad either

That could definitely work.

This will likely come about whether we like it or not, the founders are VERY aware of the meager beginnings of Facebook, Redditt, Twitter, etc...
It will be interesting to see if they seperate themselves from the early userbase and take the lionshare for themselves, or if they do as you suggest and buyback steem to raise the value of the tokens against inflation.

That day is certainly arriving quickly. Something that adds an interesting twist to the mix, is that steemit is much cheaper to operate.
