Steem has the 4th most DApps of any Blockchain in the World

According to State of the DApps, Steem has the 4th most DApps of any blockchain

Gone are the days when Steem is no longer included on the list with the most popular platform/fabric blockchains.

It currently has the 4th most DApps of any blockchain in existence:

Interestingly enough, there is some correlation between number of apps and market valuations.

In terms of valuation:

  • Ethereum - $14 billion
  • Tron - $900 million
  • EOS - $2.4 billion
  • Steem - $45 million
  • TOMO - $44 million

Though as we all know, it's not necessarily the number of apps that is the most important value driver, but instead getting that one (or more) killer app that attracts millions upon millions of users.

Though right now it appears to be mostly about the numbers, as well as a few other things like name recognition/marketing.

We have some work to do...

Yes we have the 4th most DApps of any blockchain in existence, but we are way behind the market leader.

I guess technically we could even possibly be in 3rd place if you go directly off of https://www.stateofthedapps.com/stats rankings list which doesn't include Tron for whatever reason:

(Source: https://www.stateofthedapps.com/stats)

According to the list posted above, Ethereum has 2,716 total apps while Steem has a grand total of 92.

Perhaps that is part of the reason that Ethereum is also currently 310x more valuable than Steem, though Ethereum only technically has about 30x more apps.

Either way...

It's time for Steem to start bridging that gap.

Communities and SMTs will likely help significantly

Hopefully when Communities and SMTs eventually launch, we will be that much more DApp-developer-friendly.

I would imagine having the ability to customize a token, boot-strap it to a community, and have fee-free transfers would be appealing to many out there.

We just need to make sure people know about it when the time comes.

When the time is right, I am all for spending whatever DAO funding we can on marketing (as well as a couple targeted exchange listings).

This may be our best opportunity to ensure that Steem has a long prosperous life and we need to make sure we strike while the iron is hot.

Combine this with the crypto purge that YouTube is currently undergoing and we may be getting things together at exactly the right time.

We have the perfect storm brewing, now we need to just make sure we actually take advantage of it.

Stay informed my friends.

Those others may have more, but STEEM has 2 out of the top 5! With Splinterlands at #2!

Yep, though if you just go by overall users, we start dropping down the list. A lot of those gambling apps have more users, though are they all human?! I am not sure.

excellent observation

That’s great that steem is getting more publicity these days. Hopefully people unaware or relatively uninformed about steem will see the graphic about all the dapps that use steem.

Yep, hopefully steem starts gaining from the free advertising.

I like esteem...I hope soon it is in top 4 also 😋👌👌👌👌 they have cool surfer and also app on phone .

Never used it, may have to give a try sometime here soon.

Good 🤗👌

I don't think number of applications is the most important factor... More important is the percentage of activity by recently created user accounts. There will always be old-time users who try to manipulate statistics, so activity by those should be filtered out.

Some of those gambling apps have suspect user numbers. I would venture many of those are bots.

Sometimes it requires analysis of interactions between small groups of users... Part of the group is old users that interact with too many new users that also interact with each other... Normal new users usually interact with mostly older users, because they need to build up reputation...

Yep, makes sense.

Thank you for the information! It is always nice to hear the positives for Steem, and a couple of negatives are ok too, as long as they're being addressed....eventually.

We have an opportunity right now, but we need to take advantage of it.

Great new update, mate.

The time for Steem to grow is now, and if you're not on board yet, you might want to be now. Let's all contribute to a more prosperous future for Steem's growth, and for a new generation of community to take part.

Yep, that works for me!

All this is useless if we don't do proper marketing, which is the only thing steemit.com is lacking, and i am worried who will fix it? Currently no one is trying.

Yes and no. The retention rates have been pretty terrible on here. What good is it to bring tons of people if more than 90% of them end up leaving? We need to fix the retention problem first, then start marketing and advertising everywhere.
