Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've updated you on the latest happenings at the Brunner project - a real estate investment that I recently made where we are renovating the house and then re-listing it on the market.
I mentioned before that I was going to post about the numbers of the project - the detailed financials behind how much was invested, how much the remodel costs, how much I expect to profit, how much I actually profit, etc. etc.
The numbers haven't finalized yet as I'm waiting for some more information from the contractors on the cost of materials and labor. As I put those numbers together, I figured I'd give you a little update on the project - they just ripped out the kitchen appliances and cabinets in preparation for a whole new set to be placed in and the bathrooms were gutted as well in preparation for new tile and plumbing.
I appreciate your patience on the financial side, I've heard from many of you that you're excited to hear about that side and I look forward to sharing it with you as soon as I can! Thank you!
Side Note: Another cool update is that we just broke ground on a new construction project: Project #2: Norfolk. Stay tuned! This will be my second project of the year, which puts me on track to hit my goal of 6 new projects by the end of 2018!
The following pictures are the original cabinets compared to what it looks like as of today where the whole kitchen has been gutted in preparation for the new set of cabinets and appliances to be installed.

Here's the Question of The Day, don't forget to post your answers in the comments!
QOTD: This Question is more of a game - what color do you think the new cabinets will be? There may be a reward for the first one who guesses correctly! 😉
Thanks for reading! Don't forget to leave your thoughts below and I look forward to seeing you in the comments!
hmm... i was gonna say the colour to be white but if you're asking it as a question, it must be something quirky?? Maybe yellow?? Green?? Blue???
I'll guess yellow :)
And interesting project! Can't wait to see your numbers
Haha, I love the psychology that you're factoring in here. Stay tuned for the big reveal in an upcoming post, the cabinets are being worked on as we speak!
I'm really excited to see whats going on in the bathrooms. I think you should use white or light grey cabinets in the kitchen. It looks pretty small and there's not a lot of natural light.
They're placing the tile in the bathrooms as we speak! Great guess, stay tuned for the big reveal in an upcoming post @cookit!
wow well photography keep it up ...... thanks for shareing
Goals goals are everything. After I read your post the other day with your listed goals I understood something. When you share goals with people, you are motivated to see to it that you accomplish them. Because now you will not only disappoint yourself but also those who believed in you. I will begin to try this out.
I'll checking to see your progress.
Honestly ever since junior high i wanted to flip a house. I think it would be EXTREMELY fun to do so. Even the thought of buying a fixer-upper and adding or renovating the basement apartment to bring in maximum income is a thrill. I am only 20 so I have lots of time to do this or at least try to do it. I should probably start to save up a fund to do so.
edit: Forgot to add in my answer got QOTD!
I think you will add in espresso cabinets maybe complimented by white laminate granite counter tops?
It is a lot of fun and a great experience to be a part of a tangible project that you can watch grow with your very own eyes! I believe in you and know that if you're passionate about it and decide to go after it, you'll surely achieve it!
Stay tuned for the reveal when the cabinets are finished!
Thanks! its definitely not my main goal right now as I don't have the fund to buy a house in our current market. If I was were I am today 7 years ago I would probably be renovating right now!
Looks like you are in track. Thanks for the update!
I think they will be cherry finish.
Thanks for your support! There will be a reveal of the cabinets in an upcoming post! Stay tuned!
I love it when the cabinets are taken out it looks so "work in progress".
I would not go with mahogany in that dark kitchen. I would use a light almost beige woody color.
Don't tell me you are gonna put aqua cabinets in there!!
I agree, it's a great look! Stay tuned to see what the color is in the post showing the before and after Hint: they aren't aqua!
Definitely don't use aqua!
Elon Musk launches a car into orbit and you are making wealth out of capital investment and hard work. Both alike in seeing something substantial through to success.
I love stories like this as my feed dwellers do well and I try and learn a couple things with each well-told story.
Keep me posted!
I appreciate the comparison, but do not deserve it... yet 😉. The launch was incredible and I am so grateful to have seen history be made yesterday! Thank you for your support @zekepickleman! Looking forward to it!
Lol, well you are building a future! On a smaller scale, but still important!
I appreciate those kind words! I'm doing my best, which is all I can aim to do!!
Do you have a job or are these investments your source of income ?
I haven't had a job for quite a while at this point. I've been living off of my investments for about 9 months so far and I feel pretty safe in saying that I'll never have to work for someone else ever again 😊.
My main sources of income right now are:
Nice, i would love to do number 2 and 3, number 1 however wouldn't bring me much joy mainly because i'm not very good at redecorating, i don't like it very much, but you seem to do an awesome job at it.
I'm now 23 years already investing in the crypto market, and as soon as i think i have a good crypto portfolio for the future I'll start investing in dividend stocks, mainly investing in dividend kings and aristocrats. Steemit i do for fun as a hobby, i like to express my opinions about health topics and this is a great platform to do it, alrdy got some good posts and i'm only 18 days in :)
Everything is looking like a progress. Looking good.
I'm guessing natural wood. Maybe towards the darker tone.
Thanks @danielwong!
Stay tuned for the big reveal in an upcoming post, these cabinets are being installed as we speak!
oh man oh man.... hard to tell without knowing the wall paint, unless it's staying.... I'll take a shot at blue, maybe a shade on the darker side! Keep us updated
haha great guess, the big reveal will be in an upcoming post very soon, the cabinets are being installed as we speak @jakeybrown!! I will absolutely keep you all in the loop! I'm still waiting on a few numbers for the financials and that should hopefully be my next post about this project!
Awesome to see this looking back from when the project is complete!
Haha thanks DG! Means a lot!!
I really like it, it's amazing, it's amazing
well... I was going to state the shading to be white however in the event that you're making as an inquiry, it must be something eccentric?? Perhaps yellow?? Green?? Blue???
I'll figure yellow :)
Furthermore, fascinating task! Can hardly wait to see your numbers
