RE: Steem: A Value-Based Internet

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

Good points about its potential. I really do appreciate the explanation, and how it can attract more financial support. I don't much agree on the desire to favor "Steem business ideas, promotional activities, celebrity posts and tech projects that attract new users and provide more utility in the Steem ecosystem have incredible valuable and gain higher rewards than general content", to value them because of the promotional status and financial support they can provide fro Steemit. The goal should be for quality meaningful content, as I see it. The white paper also implies such by referring to a "meaningful" valued content goal.

I would personally like Steemit to be centered more on higher quality value content, than simply any content anyone finds of value. What I mean by higher quality content is content that relates to important aspect of life, of facing the current condition of our world and ourselves, and empowering us to deal with it by understanding how to change it. I recently read the white paper and the goal for meaningful content is in line with what I desire, but I have a more demanding criteria for what is meaningful, as it relates to the higher quality content.

Currently, it is disheartening that so much fodder low quality posts are drowning out the "new" stream based on those people desires not for higher quality content, not to improve the quality of Steemit, but simply to try to get more upvotes and make money from this revolutionary platform.

I have taken time to write about this lower quality issue that is part of the money-making bandwagon consensus of many new users, who don't recognize the goal of meaningful quality content creation. Steemit Succeeds if We Make it Succeed - Analysis to Help Yourself and Steemit Grow in Quality. I am trying to get people to understand that they should put their own desires for financial gain as secondary to the overall goal of meaningful quality content and help make Steemit a success based on quality information, contrasted to how most posters are treating Steemit in the "new" section.

I would appreciate it if you could read it, and possibly share it for others to read and understand the importance of higher quality content creation, to hat Steemit can be improved. Please only upvote if you value and appreciate the content in my efforts to try to improve Steemit. I operate that way in my upvoting, based on the value of content as it relates to improving Steemit, people's lives, and the world.

Thank you for your post, and the consideration in reading mine, to try to improve the quality of the Steemit community.

Take care. Peace.
