Ever wonder if the current price makes it worth it to buy STEEM compared to the historical 2-year average? We don't know what the future holds, but it seems like it's a good time to buy/invest in STEEM.

If you bought 1 steem every day at 12pm for 2 years, what would your average price per STEEM be?
I got the data from coinmarketcap.com. I took the average of two 2-year periods, from STEEM's inception forward 2 years, and from now backwards 2 years. I also calculated the BTC value of STEEM from the BTC historical data.
From now back 2 years:
- from November 22, 2016 to November 21, 2018, the average in USD and BTC is rounded to:
$1.51
0.00026948 BTC
From the start of STEEM and 2 years forward:
- from April 18, 2016 to April 17, 2018, the average in USD and BTC is rounded to:
$ 1.29
0.00060198 BTC
Coinmarketcap.com has STEEM/USD charted, but not STEEM/BTC which I got from poloniex instead.
Since BTC has changed in USD value over the years, you can see in the two graphs below how much STEEM has worth relative to USD and BTC. STEEM has gone up in USD value due to BTC going up, but it hardly goes up relative to BTC itself.

it would be great if Dan would take control of Steemit Inc again.......he could get to a deal with Ned and do it.....all these people invested in Dan's project and that's the reason why he made it here and he was able to make it with EOS....so now don't let them behind...even if he has to pay for the Steemit Inc shares more than it's worth....then steem may gradually unite with EOS......EOS is cool but it hasn't the Steem magic.
Yeah I think Dan would have helped more if he was still here. EOS can have the magic, if they make a Steemit v2.0 ;)
they should take control of Steem 1.0 instead....and upgrade it to Steem 2.0...a lot of people invested time and money in steem out of good faith, without knowing about Ned and steemit corp problems......it's bad if they lose their money......it's important to do the things the right way...if EVEN 1 PERSON is left behind, the magic is lost...all the best ;)
I cannot understand how anyone could possibly sell their STEEM right now..
Yeah, the FUD gets to them and they want to cash out before it goes lower.

If you got your steem at $0.03 cents like many of the whales did. Then selling at anything above $0.03 is a profit and a huge 100% profit at a price of $0.06.
The whales are the ones who are selling the most steem.
Whoever bought steem at a higher than $0.03 price is paying the whales profits right now.
Steem could go much lower than the $0.30 it is today and they are still making massive daily profits by selling their steem.
Even if I got in at .03 I still wouldn't sell now.. not knowing that's it's been as high as $7.. plus knowing that selling now only lowers the price more.. maybe they're manipulating the price..
There are currently about 53 million steem on the various exchanges waiting for price movements up or down. There is quite a big buy wall at the sub $0.30 range.
If you believe in economics then the 'price' is the only true determining factor in the value of anything.
It's an interesting market to watch. :-)

I think that it’s a great time to invest. I’ve exchanged a couple Litecoins I bought for cheap for Steem just the other day actually because of this low price opportunity. Powered up all of it to better position myself for when the market goes back up.

It's a time to buy. Maybe not put everything in now but keep buying until the price gets back up to 50c - 60c. It it goes to 20c i'll buy even more. There is so much coming in the next couple of years that i can't get enough STEEM right now.

Hold or buy is my hunch for a happy outcome...but if one 'buys' it might be wise to invest 'only' what one can afford to possibly lose. This market is mostly a 'gamble' as I see it.

This is the right time to start buying steem.May be steem will go further low then you buy again.But if steem goes to 0.38 to 1usd then your money will be triple.I think steem will be back in few weeks.Let's see what happens.

because I think, that the cryptos will go upwards again, so steem an co. will be more expensive.
I am personally expecting one more dorp in the next few weeks, but hoping, that the bullish market starts now.

I have been buying since February and intend to continue to do so given the way the ecosystem has developed over the last year. The community has also been great to be a part of and I think that these two factors demonstrate the value being created despite what the price is.
