So what does this say? How do we know it's promoted?
- We can find out if someone boosted their post in their wallet history, which is out in the open on their account.
- When you see a payment to Null, that means the post was promoted.
Here's another one:
This author paid over 140 SBD to promote their post.
Although lots of upvotes, the rewards are very low.

Even after studying lots of promoted posts, it's hard to find a pattern
- Promoting more doesn't equal more votes
- More votes does not mean more profits.
- So there are lots of factors at play
- There is no guarantee for a good return of investment
But let's have a look at something else:
Voting Bots!
This author only invested 4 SBD on promoting, but..
It does well because of Voting bots!
It does well because of Voting bots!
A bot might send you a small amount to promote their service
And we can see for example here
That he paid for Smartsteem and Buildawhale services
So, the Bots will return you some money.
- Because their votes are high value
- But we can't always be sure how much he paid for it
