My Steemit story

I think it would have been more appropriate to share this story after my one-year mark on steemit. Nonetheless, I’m happy to tell you guys the interesting story about how I joined steemit.

The way it happened was completely accidental. It all started in late 2016 when I notice for the first time that the price of bitcoin got higher than the price of gold. I had heard of bitcoin a few years earlier from a friend but I wasn’t curious enough. In fact I thought the price was too high at about $200 - $500. I was thinking I had missed out and was not sure exactly what crypto currency was at the time. I thought of it like a stock of say Google or amazon and I thought it could only go so high and it would never beat the prices of Google or amazon. So when it first got higher than $1200 it got my attention. Then I looked at its chart I knew I had to get in.

At the time I barely knew of other crypto currencies. I did research and then I realized that these ICOs were moving parabolically. It was the first time I had ever seen anything like that. I was willing to take a chance here and I did. I researched about the best ICOs on Google and I saw an article that recommended Steem, Dash, Dodge, Ripple and a couple others. The next thing I did was start trying to buy them. I had no clue and I downloaded various apps and failed, I bought prepaid cards to buy from the apps and it still did not work. I was so eager to buy because during that period of researching a lot of ico had already done 2X, 3X.
When I was trying to buy steem, I went on Google to research buying steem and somehow it brought me to the steemit market. It just seemed all so complicated as I wasn’t sure how to buy steem from there. So the first thing I did was sign up. I remember going on the trending page and seeing that people were earning a lot.
After not being able to buy any steem, I gave up for a couple of months on steemit. I only returned after I heard jerry Banfield talk more about it on YouTube. So I returned and tried interacting on the platform and honestly it wasn’t easy. During that time I had already bought some steem and I think I got in at about $1. So I bought about 3000 steem tokens on poloniex and I did not know that it was the smart thing to bring it on steemit. I also did not know how to go about it. So after a couple of months of seeing how the platform works and learning and meeting my intital friends (otage, Donatello and papa-pepper), I got excited about the possibilities. I have to say the selfie challenge by @papa-pepper really helped. There were times when it wasn’t easy, I got flagged a couple of times and it was quite discouraging. That’s part of the reason why I’m not quick to flag people; especially new people because new people are most honestly lost and unaware of the etiquette here. I remember getting flagged with no explanation by some whale and that was no fun.

It is a good idea to invest now. I think the price is still low though I will not recommend poloniex at all. I still have a little steem there and I might not get it back as I have been waiting for months and I should have know better than to risk buying with them. I now buy through Binance. I think they are much better.
Glad to have joined steemit and i have so much hope for its future.
How did you guys learn about steemit?

Thank God you got on steemit.

I got on steemit last year too 11th August to be exact.

Prior to this day I was a blogger, vlogger, graphic and web designer.
I happened to train for free so many Nigerian youths both offline and online on how to effectively use the internet for positive things and earn.
(#its no news that Africans or Nigerians in particular are sometimes known as scammers online)

So my mission was to bring redemption to my countries name in my own little way.

So oftentimes I get asked by my students to teach them about cryptocurrency, but most times I shy away because all cryptos known to me requires investment some worth.
And traditional that's not my style, it won't fit the kind of things I teach; which is empowering youths through internet skills that require no investment. My kinsmen would flee from any thing that may require them to put in cash (we don't even have lol)

So I got curious one day n searched if there is any crypto out there that won't require investing money or atleast huge money and wolla!!!

That was how I found #steemit

You saw an opportunity and was willing to key into it. That is bravery Although not many people has more than enough to start buying or investing on STEEM for now, But the liitle we are making from steemit is enough to write a good testament about the platform.
Only God knows how broke I would have been had it not be for steemit that came to my rescue after losing heavily to ponzi schemes.

There were times when it wasn’t easy, I got flagged a couple of times and it was quite discouraging. That’s part of the reason why I’m not quick to flag people; especially new people because new people are most honestly lost and unaware of the etiquette here.

Anyone that has been following you will know for certainity that @leggy23 is a kind hearted fellow. I which they are many people as open and accommodating as you on this platform. The fight for a whale attention is really tiring and sometimes frustrating especiallywhen they don't even notice you. But, here you are, always helping others.

God bless you @leggy23 and increase you wallet.

I’m curious about the ponzi schemes and how you were able to trust steemit.
Thanks, I believe we should all be kind to one another.

interesting all your story friend, even if you had some hiccups the most important was that you did not give up and you had a lot of patience and I loved it when you said you have high hopes with Steemit. When we are new to this platform some whales do not understand it I hope that change for the future new Steemians, I do not have much time and felt that I still have a lot to learn from this platform and in that I am trying to instruct myself on a daily basis to be better, I joined Steemit for a sister-in-law who talked to me about Steemit and I decided to enter, at first it was a little difficult because I was denied the idea but then I became interested a little more and here I am learning something every day with some posts like this that you have shared with us today and some of other users that like you care about the platform and provide knowledge to your followers.

Thanks Lizzy, no matter what we all have something to contribute.

You have had a unique experience friend @leggy23. I have a sad story, I joined steemit at a very difficult time in my life and I have continued working to be able to do it as best as possible because my family depends on that. I never take it as a game, although sometimes it's fun I try not to lose my horizon, making it serious. On the other hand, for a long time I have wanted to invest and buy more Steem but I can never get together for my expenses. In the same way, thank you for that information.

It’s never easy putting money into an investment especially when you work hard for it. When you are ready you will.

Hello Friend Greetings. It really is very interesting the way you started in this great community, it all started with the information you were getting among your friends and your own media until you searched so much with this platform, you made the decision to register and until now You have achieved many things and you have kept on a good path. Keep up the good friend so much ... !!

As many people say, to reach success you have to go through the difficult road, you are a demonstration of effort and dedication because we all know that getting to steem is not easy and more if you are new and do not know anything about the platform but despite that you were a pr of months you were constant and that is the reason for success without talking about your investments with the cryptocurrencies that seems to be doing very well, I have been very motivated by your pot I will not hesitate to tell my story thank you very much @leggy23 greetings: D

Good idea to share your story.

thanks for giving me the impetus to do it :D

Wow it's a great introduction story to steemit I m inspired and. Will love to publish mine story too soon but as an early adopter of Bitcoin I am happy to be crypto currency crazy girl in my groups and circles. They never believed that cryptos are good assets.

Hello friend first of all receive a cordial greeting from me, that is an excellent story, as well as your I am also a fan of cryptocurrencies and also invest my time investigating the different cryptocurrencies, such as Dash, Dodge and Bitcoin among others and for that reason I invite you all to investigate more about these criticisms.
