I get the cheap wine from Trader Joe's so I can be a sophisticated wino. Lately I've been into the following grapes: nebbiolo, zinfandel/primitivo, aglianico, tempranillo, sangiovese, Cabernet franc, Pinot noir... And of course Bordeaux blends, Rhone GSM... Pretty much reds but I'll fuck w/some white wine or Rosé if someone busts it out. Where are your wine reviews?

Lol i cant really talk well about it so i stay away from posting those. I would just say it’s bomb! Lol. I like it all except the sweet stuff, guess Pinot noir from the area where i live which is the Monterey region are my favorites, but recently got turned on to burgundy and that stuff is pretty knarly! Oh yeah and santa Cruz mountains Pinot is some pretty spectacular stuff as well
Monterey County, huh? When it comes to American Pinot, I always go for Oregon, personally. Willamette Valley. Although Russian River Valley shits on basically everywhere else in the US... Wines from there aren't affordable. Check out Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards. The singer of Tool came to AZ to start growing wine and help make AZ a known wine region. His wine is pretty damn good, too.
I heard that he was! I need to check it out. I’ve had Oregon Pinot and it is good. I do like the big pinots coming outta SAnta Lucia highlands, here in Monterey. Honestly if its Monterey Pinot i think it’s all crap but SAnta Lucia sub appellation is where its at. Check out pisoni vineyard 👍
Santa Lucia? I'll have to peep that. Only Pinots I've had from Monterey were meh and expensive. Never heard of Kosta Brown. I'm a big fan of Zinfandel from Lodi and Paso, too. It's pretty much the only grape that American vintners think they have mastered more than the old world (even though in Puglia they low-key do it better).
Kosta Browne is a cult winery based outta Russian river and use grapes from only top Pinot regions, Sonoma coast, Russian river, and Santa Lucia highlands, it’s a 2 year waiting list just to buy from them, after market prices are ridiculous! Yeah the pinots labeled Monterey always smells like burnt rubber to me. Lodi has great wine and great value! I love petite sirah from there. Man i knew the lead singer of tool made wine but didn’t know it was Arizona grapes! I have his wine on my to get list, just need to make more steem! 😉
Damn dude you are a wine list guy! That's high-brow! I usually just hit Trader Joe's or Total Wine haha. I would check out that brand but it seems out of my price range.
Sonoita AVA and Verde Valley AVA are AZ pride points. Other good AZ wineries: Page Springs Cellars, Arizona Provisioner, Arizona Stronghold, Sand Reckoner, Flying Leap/Canelo Hills, Dos Cabezas, Chiricahua Cellars...
Haha I dream of buying wine with Steem...
That Kosta Browne is marked up 90-100% aftermarket and probably 200% at restaurants though, i would never buy kb after market, it’s great wine but for a 100-200$ a bottle! Hell no!
Lol one day we will! Yeah i save money for wine and when i get a pricy bottle i usually take a few week break from buying any wine and just drink a nice ipa during my wine break. And being in a wine region i got friends and family that work at the winery and get good deals.
Bro i just remembered something about traders joes wine. I was at a tasting at pebble beach once, and if you know that area its like the richest 1% of the world. anyways all the wineries that were pouring ran out of wine, except trader joes!! They kept that party rocking!!! Ill never knock trader joes wine!! haha
Ever hear of this producer?
And traders joes definitely has the best cheap wine on the market, can’t knock that stuff haha
