RE: The Sunday Purge #3: Is Flagging the Solution to Abuse?

in #steem7 years ago

I respect your point but I think 'we' are missing the point of the principle involved here. ( and the ethos of free markets)

Free markets are_only based_ on affirmative action, not negative action.
(you walk past a bad store, and buy in a good store. You don't trash the goods of the bad store.)

Negative action in the free market is non purchase - Not a punitive action actively against someone (for whatever reason).

Maybe I am missing something.

Answers to my questions rambles into the technology, and loses me.

I am very much a proponent of .... if you can't explain it clearly to a 10 year old, you don't now enough of what you are talking about.

I would love to know where I am going wrong in my thinking/logic...

Explain to a 10 year old, please? (thats me. lol)

cheers matey

Oh yeah, you have a great point. But if a real store is bad it will probably vanish by itself. Here, if you let people spam without doing anything, they will keep on spamming.

Flags are worthless if there's no one abusing the reward pool but as long as evil stuff happen, (that may be forever) flags will be needed.

If a store is taking advantage of people by scamming them someone has to shut it down if not, it will keep on scamming.

I would love if there would be no need for flags but they are designed with a reason. To shut down the store. ;)
