RE: Liquid Steem question

in #steem8 years ago

It used to suffer a dilution penalty which holders of Steem Power mostly avoided. Now that the rate of inflation has changed so much, it's not all that bad, though you do lose out on a slight bit of what might be considered interest when just holding Steem Power. Also, your curation rewards will be lower if you have less Steem Power.

I'm a little disappointed with the changes because I'm holding Steem Power for the long term. I liked the idea of my Steem Power count going up.

Ok so what you are saying is that Steem gets slightly diluted (if this is correct, do you know the percentage?), and Steem Power earns less interest than what it used to?

The details can be found here: https://steemit.com/steem/@steemitblog/final-review-of-steem-economic-changes

The relevant points are:

Inflate at 9.5% APR narrowing to 0.95% APR by 0.01% every 250,000 blocks (Roughly 0.5% per year).

and

15% of inflation is allocated to Steem Power
