Steem is a game 🎯

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

After a week or so on steem the whole thing feels a bit like gambling. The highest score wins 😃 Nah, not really.. but there's a lot of motivation due to financial stats 💵 💰

Waiting for you posts to get upvote for upvote and seeing the dollar value next to it rising 📈 😃
Isn't that a great feeling if you reach a couple of dollars as a newb 🐟 here, or even thousand as a whale 🐳 (thanks to self voting)
Sometimes even minnows get a lucky punch.. 🎉

But its totally uncontrollable in my mind 🕹 You never know whats gonna happen ❓ There are just too many factors which influence the success of a post, same for comments.. for newbies its pure luck most of the time. I've seen many spending hours on thousand of words of useful stuff but getting nearly no attention 😗 But if you made it upwards the SP ladder and gather enough followers you made it 🎩

Thats the risk you have with any kind of game but in here lies the fun I guess 😎 at least for me.. 😜

Keep playing 🎮

your do have your point. Those who are already quite successful even made videos of teaching how to get more followers, upvote and that sort of stuff. But as a newbie, just like u said, luck is part of the factor! because no matter how good ur content is, if SOME HOW, ppl just skip it ( which means, you have no luck ) you'll still won't get noticed. then, maybe u post a video of a cat slept and farted, suddenly it gone viral. So, where's the standard here? seriously, just like u said, couldn't agree more, keep playing :D

you are absolutley right!

And or internet hobo begging.... Spare some ups? Lol

You inspired me.

I agree! I just been active for about a week too and it makes writing more like a competitive game to me. Good insights

I'm only two weeks old here and exactly how I feel, enjoyed this post and loving this new 'game'!

I am a newbie. Yes, it is kind of a game. It's a little sad. I just want to get paid for the quality of my work. But it doesn't really work that way. :(

Like this lighthearted perspective. The monetary reward is a bonus. If it's the only motivation, it can get easily frustrating.

Life has always been a game, what makes it a game are the challenges it will eventually throw at you, and you have to dodge a few as well as catch a few to progress, sometimes you'll miss a catch or a dodge and lose. But then you get back into it (the repeating process), and do it all over again and again until the game is #Complete. From there #Ascension becomes the new game we will play for all eternity.

It indeed is a game.

Then again, so is this entire simulation.

Do a little dance,

smash a lil' hulk,

get down tonight

get back up today

Very accurately summed up XD

And yeah, you make some truly valid points there. I think if you were to try and really make it whale-sized big on Steemit, you'd simply have to follow the one cardinal rule every major Youtuber who was ever asked how to become a star Youtuber by their fans provided every single time; keep uploading, keep uploading, and don't stop uploading.
