So is upvoting your own post considered negative by the community( obviously yes at last by a part of it ) but why have that option in the system then? Im fairly new to steem and still trying to work out a few things here i asked the above question before but nobody answered also finding any type of user rules here or such can be complicated

I don't think that upvoting your own post is necessarily negative, especially when you're a user with not very much influence but in the case of this post and what's being discussed, it is a husband who has a powerful account upvoting his wife's posts or allowing his wife to use his account to do it herself which results in them getting a large monetary reward which doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of the posts or their unbiased reception by the wider community. At least that is what I understand by all of this, however I could be wrong.
