Somebody worked at that documentation like a lot, it is simply huge! I believe that somebody could make a complete tutorial on how to setup a machine to be able to make the calls to the api, including the software that has to be installed, the settings made, and all the rest, but since it is an API, it can be called in multiple environments and different programming languages. You don't have to make this tutorial, guys, as you also have a lot of things to do first, but I am asking people from the community to post such a tutorial, as there are others using the API, more than sure.
Great job!
It has been done before by the community. For instance, @klye wrote a bunch of API docs just to get STEEM listed on an exchange or something, I forget. It was a couple years ago. It was a really great initiative he took on.
But the API evolves, especially now with Appbase.
Yeah, the API evolves, that is true. I tried to get some documentation on how to work with it, just for learning purpose, but it was pretty hard so I kept postponing it.
That was a great initiative, I hope that somebody will try to bring updated information on this, as it would be helpful to have more developers involved in this, not just the Steemit Inc team, and sharing information and working examples is critical.
@kyle is truly inspiring and so committed to boosting the steem network via his vlog.
Please enlighten me on "testnet"
It’s really just a mock-up blockchain to play around in. You know how Bitcoin is the first blockchain? That’s not exactly true. The Bitcoin testnet was the actual first blockchain. They set it up to test mining and try out transfers.
