Sorry to hear that! We all have our own principles. I personally think that bots help minnows make the transition to a more reputed user or whale.
These days the "minnow-whale divide" is so large it's incredibly hard to do well without external help. Many minnows make cents if not nothing, and because we're inclined to look at more higher valued posts (also thanks to the sorting algorithm) they don't get that much attention and can't advance.
Bots help shorten this gap and help minnows get more attention and visibility. Some bots aren't that great, but I think @minnowbooster is a great bot with a conscience (they never upvote spammers).

Well said. @minnowbooster has follows @steemcleaners' abusers list and reacts promptly to any spammers or abusers using the service. Their goal is to help minnows get better visibility and attention on Steem, which is quite a charitable initiative.
I think they're not only the bot with the largest ROI for users, but also the bot with the biggest conscience :)
