Gradually, my worst fear for Steem seems to be coming to reality. As days turns into months, it's wasn't gaining as much it was losing and whether we like it or not, its a non-ignorable fear for all Steem holders as its not getting any better.
Each Market drop, that is, when Bitcoin Drops in price significantly, it has a tremendous effect on Steem. Unfortunately, as many as several Altcoins taking the blows from the long Bear Market, the heaviest punches kept landing on it. The sad part is, the potential and Dapp rankings doesn't help, no matter how highly ranked on State of the Dapps or Dapp.com, it never matches in volume traded and Market Capitalization.
Yes, a lot of Alts are suffering, but i am a Steem Hodler and my worries and fears are valid. I still have somewhat about Two thousand vested shares, tiny to some and envied by some, that makes me sad seeing it depreciate in value on and on without a Bottom Reversal.
Hopefully, we don't lose another decimal point before this Bear run comes to a halt, maybe Steem survives till 2020 or more!
Once again. The market once gave a huge marketcap to eToys and Webvan. It also felt that Yahoo was worth $500 a share.
The first two raised tens of millions of dollars in venture capital and ended up as nothing. Closed down. Broke.
You are seeing the same thing here. Markets are notorious for getting things wrong. They are terrible picking winners and losers.
Your fears exist because you focus upon price instead of the technology. That is where the difference is.
Amazon and Priceline were not stock market darlings during the dotcom era yet they kept plugging along, developing, and look at them now.
Compared that to the hype machine of eToys and Webvan.
"Your fears exist because you focus upon price instead of the technology. That is where the difference is."
No good investor will talk like this, whats the essence of technology when investors runs away from it? Ask yourself that.
I have been holding Steem since 2017 and i know its potential isn't matching its investment.
