What if instead of down voting a post, you could down vote a voter?

What would be the direct incentive to down vote a voter? Without an incentive, it remains an unbalanced vote.

I'm still not sure why incentivizing downvotes based on their contribution to the payout (similar to prediction markets) would be a bad thing. It seems like it would solve many issues, and would definitely bring the payout closer to its objective value (as defined by the value given by the community as a whole). More on this here.

This take value away from other curators and authors and gives robotic whale curators a unchecked easy path to profit.

Yup. We have hundreds of bots simply upvoting based on a users name. Mine included. Reading content has become a waste of curation time. This leads to a huge visibility issue for anyone else. Self-fulfilling prophecy really. If you don't upvote people on those lists, you're effectively losing money.
