Match
Manchester United defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 2: 0 (1: 0) in the FA Cup semi-final. The Red Devils' play was far from ideal, but goals from Romelu Lukaku and Nemanji Maticia gave the team passes to Wembley. In the semi-final United will face Tottenham Hotspur.
Jose Mourinho slightly shook the starting eleven in comparison to the lost match against Sevilla in the Champions League. In the basic composition the place has been kept by six players. On the bench he sat among others Alexis Sanchez.
Manchester United match against Brighton did not start with mad attacks, but controlled the course of the pitch events. The snowing snow was not much easier for the hosts. Jose Mourinho's first attempts at the players are shots from a distance. However, the strikes of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard did not threaten Tim Kruel's goal.
The first action that really picked up the supporters from the seats took place in the 30th minute. Juan Mata and Anthony Martial decided to knock the defensive Brighton playing for one contact. They exchanged five passes, Mata fired the shot, but only won corners. After a while, Chris Smalling hit the post. The Englishman gave a shot from close range from the corner of the corner.
In the 37th minute Red Devils finally opened the result of the meeting. Nemanja Matić sent a fantastic ball with his left foot to the post, and Romelu Lukaku packed it in close range. After taking the lead, Jose Mourinho started to look for a goal that would make visitors happy. However, this play failed them for the break.
The next minutes of Manchester United are a total lack of initiative and control over the Brighton match. Jose Mourinho's players were asking for a goal and once again allowed to risk under their own penalty field. Lecodia and reserve Izquierdo were especially active in the Brighton team.
Manchester United plays in the second part not very well. In the 84th minute, the Red Devils, however, put a full stop over "and" after a good free kick. Young crossed Nataja Matić on the sixth meter, and defeated Kruel on the sixth meter.
