Last week I made a post to give props to the Superheroes of Steem. These are the people who believe in this relatively new network and its first proof-of-concept, Steemit, so much that they're willing to commit a lot of their own money to power up and become a bigger part of this beautiful community.
I scoured the blockchain for more this morning, and to my surprise found so many that I have a hard time getting to them all! I've managed to look at 10 accounts for today's Superheroes post. I know there's more, so if you know someone or are someone who's powered up, leave a comment!
For those curious about why you might want to power up, or what it even means, see the above link where I wrote a couple paragraphs answering those questions :)

They made their account 43 days ago but Steem really caught their attention attention when it rocketed to #3 on Coinmarketcap.com. leon-fu has since powered up to over 3,000 Steem Power this week!

This account was created just one week ago and has since powered up to over 21,000 SP!! Wow am I reading that right? Did I add an extra zero? Nope they really did! And they've been commenting and voting on good posts since joining, enjoying it along the way. This person is beyond a model Steemian!
For all of these accounts I looked at their account on steemd.com and their Steemit post pages to see what they're about. There are more Superheroes out there than I thought! Too many to go through without spending an entire day, so if I didn't find you I'm sorry. Leave a comment if you've powered up, small or large.
You can be a Superhero in other ways, make great posts and gain a following and you can be a Steemit Superhero!

I am not a big whale that could battle a squid or the like; only a lesser but more nimble smaller whale. An orca? I am not a famous blogger and my job will limit that here. But maybe I can perform feats of strength and other hero-like activities in the next week. I will right wrongs starting today!

putting resources into steemit is nice thing to do. if you're resources are very limited you can't. A Steem Superhero is not about spending resources at all. A real Steem Superhero is searching for hidden gems upvote those and makes nice posts recognized for the mass or create precious content on his/her own. anyway...nice research by you @pfunk
Here I define Steem Superhero as someone who powers up their account, for now and for later, when Steem won't just have Steemit. There's more to come :)
This post is to honor just some of the people that do it, as it's a fairly long term dedication for the cryptocurrency world, where projects come and go. It seems to be the opinion of many that this one will stand the test of time.

Wow feels good to be on the list! My instincts prompted me to invest in this initiative and I have done so. I had faith earlier too, but after seeing the handling of the recent crisis, I have realised that the people who run this have a level head and can manage greatness if they are thrust into it. My confidence grows as I see and meet new people, here and in the slack channel, where it is very clear, I am among good people. I now am a steemer, and I remain a steemer till I die! lol

That's a nice list! It's good to see people investing into the platform. I would've loved to be in a position to do the same. Hopefully learning and earning from the platform will allow me to also invest into it by means of powering up in the days to come. Good to see some known names here. :)

Yes it is amazing how some relative newbies are buying in BIG time to Steem power! Clearly there is a certain appeal to many people that is hard to even put into words (Spending 10BTC on Steem power... WOW!). Anyway as you alluded to at the end of your post there are many other types of Steemit superheros. It would be great to see how has posted the most quality comments under posts or who has created the best marketing posts that have brought more people to Steemit. Keep up the great work.
