I feel like my steemit experience has really changed in the last month. Since I decided I was going to start investing in cryptocurrencies.
I used to browse my feeds and read about peoples, lives, families and travel. I'd check out some of the art and creative writing content. I used to spend way more time at the steemsilvergold tag, seeing all the amazing cool silver coins everyone was getting over there. I was totally naive to the world of crypotcurrencies when I came to steemit and wasn't interested at all, but have since had my eyes opened to the possibilities.
Now I'm finding myself scouring the crypto feeds for the next big tip on the next big coin, or finding ways to share my binnance referral link. (Yeah, it's hyperlinked there, pathetic eh?)
I'm going start making more of an effort to balance my reading and curation back to other content that I used to follow more often.
The thing that bothers me most and keeps my up at night is trying to decide how much steem/sbd to remove from Steemit for crypto investing. I really do think Steem has a big future I love having more Steem Power for my votes and sharing/delegating to all the great initiative around here.
I always find that any choice quickly becomes overwhelming for me, and having to make constant decisions is a real brain drain, So whenever I'm faced this these things. I always try to set rules for myself to follow so it eliminates any decision.
Source (This is also probably what the inside of my brain looks like.)
In light of this I have decided that I will only remove 50SBD/week for crypto investing and the remainder will remain on platform for power up my steem power.
We also usually pay cash to our mint for any Steem that we receive as payment for our silver products and I will continue to invest those proceeds towards other cryptocurrency investments.
I pledge to only send this much SBD off platform for the next 2 months, then I will evaluate again. I think this will help me to sleep at night.
I also hope that in 2 months I can also consider taking an additional small amount of the platform to but silver from one of the other online retails that also accept cryptocurrencies as payment.
My plan is to not take more then 50% of my monthly rewards earned and plan to continue to reinvest heavily in steem power

Sounds like a solid plan. Good to be diversified. So keep half to power up and half to spread out in various cryptos. I like it. Good luck.
Fyi, i’m letting everything roll (over) on Steemit — and wow! No one is using the bots so the pay-outs are huge!
If Steemit becomes what we all want it to become, you will want as much inside the bottleneck as you can get — turn your dollars into crypto, but cherish your place on the Steemit roster — just my 0.02!
I'll have to look at the bots again, I've seen you payouts there massive bit may be worth a second look. Thx, I always value your feedback man.
👍

I support you!If I had such funds,I would have invested!;)
I'm relatively new to the platform and not making a whole lot (yet). But even so, the high price of SBD makes it hard not to cash out. I agree with you on the future growth of steemit and have decided more steem power is better for the future. I might kick myself later, but I came here with nothing and am learning more and more everyday. So I have recently decided that I will power up 100% of my post for now.
Nono, don't use the 100% power up.
The payout calculations is much better with 50/50, since it pays you 1SBD per 1USd and 3steem/uSD. You will get way less (like 5x less if you power up)
So much to learn 😳
Damn, the math got me again. Thanks for pointing that out
thanks for that - I'm still very naive to how that all works
I let holoz0r do all the research :)
To do it well requires being constantly at the cutting edge.
I just put together a trike for Evelyn; with all the interruptions and 'help' it took me 45 minutes. How am I supposed to weigh ripple against EOS?
I can barely focus on one thing long enough to feed the dog.
The FOMO is strong, but steem is adding 4000 people a day; and a lot of them are hanging around, building relationships...
A lot of these coins can be copied, forked, bolted in, unbolted and replaced, but the human relationships that hold steem together and give it value, they're irreplaceable.
We're still under $5. Bargain :)
Not a bad idea. I am personally not going to take out any money for at least a year, I'm power hungry, but on the other hand it is nice to take some of your steem earnings and turn them into fiat that you use daily. Can't wait until we get to the point where we can use STEEM as a replacement for fiat. that'll be the day
That's how I'll be buying my 2018 silver coins :)
Hopefully you and me both
very interesting post...
thanks for sharing it...
upvoted and followed..!!!
That's very thoughtful of still thinking about this community! Indeed Steemit contains a lot of valuable information. There are things I just found out because of the articles posted here. However, I believe it's alright to take out some money for personal use. It's basically rewarding yourself for all the great things you've done here.
It is no doubt overwhelming this new world, it is wise to set limits... nearly everything has been glittering this past month but the future will likely be more prickly.
Yeah I don't know what my issue has been, maybe just all the stress from the holidays or taking time off of work or what? Steemit just didn't seem like as much fun to me anymore, but think I've been focusing more on trading with following coin charts due to all the volatility.
Sounds like a solid plan and am interested to here how it turns out for you.
I started investing in cryptos from 2012. And from then i have earned a lot. And this year i made a very good profit from SBD.
Thanks to steem for this platform and SBD.
From cryptos earning i have travelled a lot around the world almost 83 countries till now and so i have now started my blog here to share my experience. I hope you will like it.
