I don't really get how steem power works . I converted 50 of my steem to steem power to see how it works. the wallet says

what exactly does the delegation do ?
I also read that a portion of steem generated throughout the day is distributed among the Steem Power holders which doesn't seem to be the case as i have not gotten anything yet. I am a relatively new steem user so I don't really know what I'm doing, but I would like to be a better curator/ poster so please help .

Steem just sits on your account but it can be sold easily, but Steem Power cannot be sold easily, powering down takes time. But if you have high SP you get high rewards for commenting, voting, writing posts. High steem power can make it easy to grow your account.
