Change Steemit profile picture without third party websites
Many tutorials here teach you how to change your profile picture. Most of them linked you to a third party website where you can upload or host your profile picture. The problem is that what if that third party website goes offline. In this blog I will show you how to change your profile picture using steemit.com itself. This is so you don't have to worry if the third party website will go down with your profile picture.
As before, I will keep this blog as simple as possible.
If it so happens that you can't find the profile picture settings like I did days ago you can refer to this blog
Let's start!
1.) Go to settings
2.) On the button on your top right screen, you will see the post button. Open it on a new tab. (right click + open on new tab).
3.) Here upload the photo you wanted for your profile. A link starting https://cdn.steemitimages will show. Copy this link.
This is the link that you will use. As you can see you just hosted your image in to Steemit. You don't actually need a third party website :)
5.) Go back to your settings page and paste this link. Click save and provide your username and Master Key. Yes, your master key. Make sure your computer is safe from malware.
6.) Do the same thing with your cover photo. You can now close the post draft.
And that's it!
That is how you can change a Steemit profile picture without using any third party website. Go change your profile picture!
