Hello Steemit community. I would like to ask you several questions and respond to me as if I have 2 years old. I do not understand much, I'm new here. And before making a new post I would like to be clear about some things.
1: Is it possible that the value will decrease as votes are not received?
2: How can you raise the voting value?
3: If my voting power is low. Do I hurt someone with my votes?
4: Is it easy to raise the voting value?
5: Why some posts have many votes but little value?
6: Why some posts have few votes but a lot of value?
7: What is VEST, what is it for?
8: Have many people following and few follow you, influences something?
9: Can you republish the same post again?
Thank you all and I hope to understand, since I have searched some post where it is explained and even achieved without understanding. Sorry for bothering. Best regards to the beautiful steemit community.
I'll answer a few easy ones.
*You can raise the voting power by not voting. Check https://steemstats.com to see what your voting power is. I think that we get 40 votes per day, so when we vote more, we lose power.
*Why some posts have many votes and little value? - Those voting on the post, though there may be many of them, do not have much steem power. One vote from a "whale" who had a lot of steem power is worth more than many, many votes from those with little. (Next question, reverse answer, same concept.)
*Followers vs those followed does not influence something, it's just that whoever you follow will have their posts appear in your feed, and those following you will have your posts appear in their feed.
HOPEFULLY SOME OF THAT MAKES SENSE.
@papa-pepper he said answer for a 2 year old :P
peace :)
Thanks for take your time for explain me. I understand a little more now , with you and @smysullivan. I will try to up my vote power again.
Yeah, @smysullivan is very helpful and interactive too!
Glad that we could help!
Thank you for clarifying some of the points I did not know how to answer all the questions.
You're welcome, and thanks for your part too!
Keep doing what you are doing, it is a blessing to others!
I keep working at it thanks to @barrydutton I am getting lots of help on spelling mistakes I make. Otherwise, I'm just having lots of fun.
Yeah, I'm pretty good at commentary.
(the other line of conversation was too long to comment there)
Oh, thats fine, Oh, yeah saw the shirt looks awesome!
Good, I'm glad that I met you two
Same here, it seems more fun on SteemIt when I get to read your comments.
The number (56) Is my level right? How I can grow up??
A GIFT for you to use at the end of your posts if you want.
Compliments of Papa
Thank you very much, you did not need to bother. I will use it for my next post. Thank you.
I know that I did not need to bother, and you also do not need to use it.
I just figured I'd make it and see what happens.
Might help...
I use, you will see in hours. When put my new post.
Yes, that is your reputation, mine is 69.
Rep is based off of the votes that you have received, and the higher that you get, the more you need to go to the next level, like the Richter Scale.
Just keep posting and commenting , and you will continue to grow.
Ah okey, thanks again. Cheers
@rappiro
You will need to be
doesn't mean you add them all in you will get an upvotes. Tell must them you are following them. Does that make sense?
Thanks for the time for explain me. Yes I understand that points, but dont know well how that works here. I follow the people want no all steemit =P. Thanks for your help.
I guess it a game being like by someone, popularity can goes down too as you goes up.
I am also new, I do not understand much that I do not know to publish .. I only share the subjects that I like and I relate but I want to do my publications thing that I have not learned yet .. So I hope your Help since I see that they know much .. If you want to help me and follow me with a vote @Sandra16 Regards! Very good message friend @Rappiro
For #2 you can check https://steemstats.com/#/ to see the voting percentage, everytime you vote it decreases and from 0 it would take 5 days to return to 100%, but also look at https://steemd.com/@rappiro and on the top left corner look at the .04 M Vest, the higher that number is the better, to increase this number you need more SteemPower.
#3 it does not hurt others with a lower voting power, you might not get a part of the curation reward.
#5&6 The votes on a post for @dantheman will be large with fewer votes due to whales or people with large voting power voting. Otherwise the many votes without value would be the several people like you or me voting with little power making little difference.
#7 It is your interest in the system. How much of your time and money are invested in this program.
#9 Yes you could republish the post, but then @cheetah will catch it, and you will not get any votes, so best thing to do is to constantly add new content.
As for the other questions I am not to sure on how to answer them.
Thanks for take your time for explain me. I understand more better all. But i dont see the 0.04 M vest you say.
Sorry on the steemd.com site it said .4 I must have typed it in wrong. Your vests are shown in the top right corner
I saw that now. Thanks, I have 0.404 Is okey right? I can raise that? If i can, how? Thanks. This is my last question :)
You would increase your SteemPower to increase the vests. My vests are around .6 or so.
Ah good, thanks for answer me. Cheers
The value of a post will go down as the reward pool is delegated out throughout the day. If you are not getting any more big votes and other posts get them your posts value can go down as time goes on until payout. If other posts are not getting votes the value of your post can also go up.
Your voting value is derived from the amount of Steem Power you have, more steem power = more voting value.
No, your votes never hurt anyone. Only a flag can hurt someone else.
Yes, just acquire more steem power. Whether that be from posting, networking and earning it through hard work, or purchasing it on the open market.
The value of a vote is derived from the steem power of the voter, some posts get a lot of votes from people with very little steem power, so the money effect of those votes is small.
The inverse of my answer to 5, those posts got voted on by people with more steem power. If a big steem power holder votes on your post it is awarded much more.
Vests are another name for Steem Power
It only influences how many people will see your post, in their feed. The more followers you have the less extra networking you need to do to get noticed. That doesn't mean you should take your followers for granted, you shouldn't you should still be out here every day interacting with people and trying to show the community that you care, and are a cool part of it!
You can, but absolutely should not. Its frowned upon. You already published it, do you see websites re-publishing their content all the time? Nope, once its out there its out there. You can always link to older posts if they are relevant in new posts though. Like as a " Hey check out this older post of mine you might like if you enjoyed this one!" sort of way.
Thanks for your time for explain me. I understand more now. Sorry for ask many stupid question. I always understand late the things or need explain like a babe =). Thanks for your help. Cheers
None of the questions you asked were stupid. I am quite certain they are things a lot of people are wondering. You were just brave enough to ask!
Also, if you do not have an account on Steemit.chat yet, you should sign up. There is a channel in chat where there are lots of people available to answer questions like this :)
