Well I just got paid for winning this one. How about not posting this spam at the start of each of his posts. Because right now he is running contests and paying the winners, but you're spamming.

Wow. I could see that Steemit abuse was bad, but this is ridiculous! It's very sad, this sort of thing will kill ultimately the platform, no new users will want to join because of it.

@bitbrain I agree. What @themarkymark doesn't realize (or maybe he does and he just doesn't care?) is that he is almost single handedly destroying the reputation of Steemit as a whole. I've done some checking and I've seen so many people saying "I would join Steemit ... BUUUTTTT..." and then they say when they saw all of this going on, that they want no part of it.

I'm not challenging him out of anger or spite but God knows he is one of those people who thinks that anyone who disagrees with him is just butthurt, not knowing that he is projecting. I am challenging him because I am curious to see where it leads, and: no one else that I can see is seriously taking this on.

I've already challenged him to a YouTube live stream about this situation, face to face, voice to voice and I told him that I expect him to make excuses to decline. I'm having the live stream whether he is on it or not, and I told him so. Just going to give him a little time to either surprise me and accept, or to decline like I am pretty sure he will.

I want to see if anything I can say or do within this situation can create any sort of positive change within the Steemit Community.

I figure the end result will be one of two things:

  1. I will succeed in creating positive change
  2. I will find out that there really isn't one damn thing I can do about it and he can simply rule the entire platform with an iron fist, with impunity

I am just curious to see which of these two things happens. That is my singular only reason for any of this back and 4th with him or about the situation. I'm not angry. I don't hate the guy. I'm just curious to see where this goes.

Well done on your efforts, I realise that it can't be easy to fight from such an underdog position. I commend your dedication and pursuit of fairness.

It would be very sad to see Steemit suffer as a whole because of a few individuals. Ironically, this is the very thing that blockchain technology stands against! Centralised control and abuse of the system: that smacks of the existing fiat money culture and the 1% who have all the wealth and power. I guess blockchains still have a way to go.

I have written a bit on similar subjects (in this and other posts: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@bitbrain/money-understanding-it-and-cryptocurrencies-part-4-weapons-of-the-war-on-crypto), and my answer (or prediction or whatever) to situations like this was as follows: when one blockchain becomes too centralised, it will be deserted by crypto enthusiasts in favour of another untainted blockchain. So maybe Steem will start losing potential steemians to e.g. InvestFeed or Kik/Kin (maybe it's losing them already).

But this battle is not yet lost. It is well within the realm of possibility that Steem changes it's rules to get rid of unfair first mover advantages, bots, cartels etc. It just requires a little creativity, willpower and people like you.

Keep fighting the good fight man, there are those of us out their who appreciate your efforts! (I would offer to help but I'm fighting so many other battles already!)

Thank you, I appreciate that. Just re-steem anything of mine that you like. And sub my YouTube channel if you want.

The only thing required for evil to triumph, is for good people to do nothing -- as the old quote goes. Then of course as far as the "why I fight" ideology, for me it is not so much a fight as it is just a state of being I maintain. This quote sums it up nicely:
