Powering up so I can delegate to you

100% Powering up and delegation

I'm going to power up 100% until I hit 500 SP. I got surprised delegated by @erodedthoughts and this helped me out a lot, like tremendously. He is going to delegate to me until I have unlocked my own Slider. I asked him if it would be better to delegate the same amount of SP back to him, instead of losing 7 days of SP. He thought that would be a good idea. But maybe, this is a better idea after reading his point of view on Delegation. Once I hit 500 SP I will Delegate 400 SP to active and contributing Steemians for a limited amount of time. I hope that the already selfless @Erodedthoughts would agree to this idea and would like to delegate to me a bit longer. Let's see how this experiment goes, shall we?

I realize powering up 100% is not the most efficient or fastest way to currently convert SBD's to SP, but I do it anyway as a gesture to raise awareness why you should invest in the platform. In the long term, you will, in my opinion, benefit from investing. Even though my vote is worth a few pennies, when I try to curate posts, I am looking more than just originality and unique content. I try to keep up where the Steem and SBD's are going to. The "Easy quick money" mentality is not something that I look for in particular. However, there are people desperately in need of money, and I have seen that even those who are in need are re-investing in the platform, so why are you not?

I made some artwork for this blogpost: "In Steem we Trust".

Chance on getting delegation?

At first, I need to reach the goal of 500 SP and obtaining the blessings from @erodedthoughts so I can continue this project/experiment. Leave a comment below, introduce yourself, what your goals are on Steemit and eventually, you will be tested. All I need from you are signs where I can relate to you and be someone that I want to be associated with. Hint: Just do your best today.

Personal Goals

So, you might ask yourself why would I delegate 80% of my SP to someone else that I do not, or might know (slight chance) while I am still a small fish on Steemit? I worked hard for this, and boom shits given away like zero fucks given. This is an experiment, and the delegated SP is given with a limited amount of time. I want to see how you're doing with some extra Steem Power in your wallet and how you will use it. Of course, I have my own personal goals on Steemit.

  • Become a dedicated contributor to Steemit with my own knowledge and skillset and appreciated/respected curator or some form of it.
  • Become self-sustainable 'enough'.
  • Launch fun-based projects in both Cryptospace and the broken world.
  • Offer innovative ideas and creative concepts.
  • Invest more in Crypto.

Mentoring

With this post, I am also hoping to find more talented Steemians who just started on Steemit and having a hard time getting started and getting rekt by too much information. @Promo-Mentors is a place for new Steemians and undervalued authors. As a new Steemian you can connect with veteran Steemians there and they will help you make sense of Steemit. Furthermore, you can find mentors in the community who hold workshops about a wide range of subjects. From the basics of blogging to specialized subjects such as fiction and science. The project is run by @futurethinker. Once I have found my one and only Steemian, I'd like to introduce you to this channel on Discord. It is a valuable open community.

If you have the guts, balls, bobs and/or glory and if you are interested in learning more about Steemit: Join promo-mentors on Discord.

If you know undervalued talented Steemians, tag them below in the comments so I can check them out.

UPVOTE, RESTEEM, COMMENT & POWER UP!

Cheers,

Ruben

I will leave the delegation as long as you need it. To be honest I have been working harder to build myself back up what I have given out in delegation between yourself and my wife. I think I picked good souls to support and since you both seem to be producing much better quality content than myself you can keep the giving spirit going to the next person.
It is all an experiment in character I think. The fact you want to support a new person after seeing the difference a little steem power does makes me proud I choose you to begin with. Keep being @rubencress and you can keep the delegation.

Wow, I'm quite dumbfounded with this insight. Never thought there are plenty of folks like you on this platform. In my few days (or months) of stay on this platform, I kept seeing folks looking only for personal gains, self upvoting and hoarding their precious SP, but you, you're on another level good sir. You would rather let others who produce better content than yourself have that precious SP. May God bless you with more than what you have given out. That also goes to your family. Kudos!

Eroded is very kindhearted and indeed selfless. This idea is inspired because of his out of the blue delegation to me when I had absolutely no clue what delegation even meant.

He did a post about sharing his perspective about delegation and why, in his opinion, it could be a good decision to delegate small minnows on the platform, I'm small myself. But that doesn't mean I can't give just as equal to make a statement and following his ideas about delegation.

Read it here

i didn't see that post...LOL you are the best choice my friend

Yours is a good initiative sir, I just hope some Whales would see your heart and follow the same...Keep it going sir, I believe it will come back to you, in good measure. I wish I could Power up like you do, but as of now my family is really in need, but as soon as I get 500 SP I will also delegate to others. Thank you and God bless you sir!

way to go . great experiment . good choice in Ruben . I will do the same DTD . I will talk to you in chat about this . have some ?

I am Jaka Emmanuel Lumanao, a month old steemian. At first, the reason why I joined steemit its because I badly need money. I thought I am the only Filipino steemian and Im afraid I have 0% success rate in the platform. Weeks have passed, I had a lot realizations, It turns out that Im not the only person who needs help and I found a lot of reasons to steem,
1st is to help others
2nd is to interact with others
3rd is the importance of originality
4th respecting other's culture
and etc. I know, I have no chance of winning. I just want you to know that you helped me a lot! You put an end to things that I fear most specially on financial problem matters. I just want to Thank you (I hope I can do it personally) and rest of our crypto friends :)

Ill be celebrating my first month in the platform and thanks all to you @rubencress :)

Overcoming your own boundaries is one hell of a job Jaka. I struggle with my own, as so many other people. I'm very happy to see that you're doing very well on the platform! Already at 45 REP! how about thatttt. Has it been one month already? :-D Time flies when you're having fun huh! I'm looking forward to see some more beach posts to make me jealous and motivate me to chase my goals.

Talk to you soon.

Good luck in your project, but...don't do 100% power up. I understand why, but don't.

I send everything I earn to bittrex, then trade it back and forth to earn more. It's the only way I can earn enough to power up the amount I want in a short period of time, plus earn more to spend it on things I need. It might look like I'm just sending it away to spend it, but I'm not. Powering up is important. It's also not bad to spend it though. SBD was made to spend.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. Might do the same as well.

choosing a 100% power up in potential rewards is no good decision, you loss more rewards

I might want to reconsider that indeed, for now, I wanted to point out that I'll be Powering Up 100% and invest 100% back in Steemit. I am still a small fish myself, so I could use the extra rewards. @lemony-cricket pointed out that it would also be better for taking the SBD down, as it should be pegged to 1$, and not as crazy high as it is right now. Thanks!

As long as you can trade the SBD for more steem than you make at 100% power up take the SBD. The broken peg creates the power of those who wish to power up to get higher SP by trading them in for steem. Don't sell yourself short thinking everyone will try to help the peg, right now the majority of the SBD's are going to the Bid Bots and to @freedom. He has stacked a quarter million of them so far in his account and he funds most of the vote sellers with delegation.

Would be nice to get this project supported by @freedom LOL, one hit and I would be @done and could delegate to two people I think. Do you think he is keeping the SBD to make it peg to 1 USD?

I didn't know you did stand up too.

non in steemit can take sbd down to $1 unless they will overflow with sbd in the market but the truth is not steemit make the price of sbd more than $1.

since this was the situation, all we can do is ride the tide.
-since long term view of powering up or staking more steem power, It is good to take advantage of 50/50% potential rewards, then trade sbd to steem then power up. this is the best way and gain more sp, than lossing more potential sp in 100% potential rewaRDS

That's what I thought also but @kevinli made me realized I was wrong. I didn't know that SP reward is DIVIDED not multiplied to current STEEM value so the higher the Steem price the LESS we get with 100% Power Up reward setting. 😂

READ: When is the Best Time to Power Up 100%?

50/50 is still BEST then just Buy STEEM and Power Up
.

If I have more cash I'd
Buy Steem Power
from my own pocket to be an INSTANT WHALE 😂:-D

This is a good and generous move. Keep it up man. I was delegated with 50 by @jrswab and it really boosted my moral and ego and avoided that dreaded bandwidth issue. 50 is not a lot I know but it is really a big help, that 50 is like 500 already for a starter like me :)

Good luck on this @rubencress,

That's very generous of @jrswab! And good to know that even 50 would help you boost your morality! Could you share what you have found valuable when you we're getting delegated? For example, being able to cast more votes?

The 50 SP delegation highlights these 2

  • an increase on my voting value
  • avoided that bandwidth problem

Cool, thanks for sharing. To me personally, I really enjoyed the ability to cast more votes to posts that I enjoy without burning my Voting Power too fast.

If people are desperate for a slider while being a minnow, they can always get one by using the tool described in https://steemit.com/steem/@ironshield/instructions-chrome-vote-percentage-slider-for-minnows

I think you're missing the point of this blog post as this is not about a 'slider'. But thanks for sharing a link for those who are in desperate need of a slider.

I love the concept of this project, it would greatly help small minnows who are struggling on this platform, and in some way that little minnow could also help others back having a slider would mean more votes going around. Kudos to this great initiative. Cheers~

@jamesanity06

I'm not sure if 400 SP delegation would be enough to get a small minnow a slider. Let's hope for the best ;-)

Thank you @rubencress your initiative is truly appreciated. This project will definitely help minnows who are learning to swim in the steemit ocean. Plus they will have the chance to be able to give back to other folks by having their power increased.

Exactly! It changed for me big time, the curation rewards itself were more beneficial already after 7 days. It would be good to seek a talented, eager to learn Steemian that is undervalued.

You are such a nice person for helping other small fish.I am cdaveboyles23,small fish but willing to grow by your delegation for me I can do more things for this platform.I hope you can also help my mother @deevi who had been experienced bandwidth all the time. She is more active than me.She has a talent in writing good story and more in giving tutorial in cooking. She deseved to have additional sp for her future goals. I feel so sorry for my mother since her password has gone.Accidentally she got wrong in copy pasting it while she was going to change her password. She cried like a baby. IT HAS BEEN 7DAYS AGO STILL RESET PASSWORD DIDN'T COME.I hope you can help my mother @deevi to have sp as long as her account will be ok.Thank you Sir.Gobless.

Thank you so much for sharing. You're saying that she has lost her password? I don't think she can retrieve her account if she lost it. Let's hope for the best.

I remember when I first rented delegations to blocktrades to get myself a slider. Being able to use a lower percentage while retaining value felt awesome and being able to vote for more people is addictive.
Although I have placed some people on autovote. Majority I still do manual curation and voting.

I find leaving a good comment and engagement as important as leaving an upvote.

IMO though using the 100% power up might not be the most efficient way. I tried that before and was losing out on some instances that it could have gotten more Steem with the ratios. I still stack from time to time but often wait for a good entry point but that is just me haha.

Great initiative man.

I have most of my friends on Auto-vote, I know they provide good and mostly high content and do not abuse the reward-pool. This makes it also more enjoyable while reading their posts without remembering if you have up-voted them or not. Manual curation is fun to do, especially when you have found something good no one else has seen yet x).

I do find it hard to place a good comment as my brain is mostly thinking in images. When I was active on Instagram, I had a WhatsApp group and taught others how to increase the content-value of their comment instead of just replying with "nice shot" or "great sunset". It's funny, some things you can explain well to others, and yet I can't seem to teach myself ;-).

Let's pass the delegation stick @erodedthoughts gave me.

Hey, I hope I am not too late. I am trying to build a musical informative blog on this platform based on my study musicology. I hope I can help everyone interested in music and give the knowledge now only available if you pay for it. By crediting my sources and citing them I think it is a legal form where information should be free for all. I also think it is an investment for the musical craftmanshio where it is becoming harder and harder by monopolies and the market to achieve somerhing. For me it is ideological but also a opportunity for the future for me to have a flexible income and job, while I for example can publish my researches on steemit.
For now I am trying to achieve a followers base, but I already got one research ready to publish when I think there will be enough interested steemians to read it :)

I hope you see some potential in what I do :)
Yours Sincerely @inMusicalTerms

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 4 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 38 SBD worth and should receive 76 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.
