RE: Where Does The Money Come From On Steemit? (Is It Sustainable?)

in #steem8 years ago

I've never really been skeptical of where the money comes from as like you said value is in what someone is willing to pay and if someone is willing to buy steem then there's value in this platform so I dind't question that.

The thing that really makes sense to me that you said is that Steemit is almost like a Facebook, where the value is in the traffic and the users and the content except instead of Facebook and Zuckerberg getting rich it's almost like a co-op or employee owned where we the users are paid. The part I always had a tough time wrapping my head around is because there's no current ads or anything where does that money come from but your video did a good job of explaining potential future options for monetization of the actual site/platform.

Yeah, and the interesting thing is that right now Steemit.com is the primary way to connect to the STEEM block chain but it isn't to say that Busy.org or Steepshot, Zappl or something else isn't the app that catches fire and goes mainstream. So those dev teams could utilize a different Ad Revenue Strategy or promoted content strategy in the end and make a ton of money off of it. In the long run though we are all "share holders" of STEEM so whatever application goes mainstream it doesn't matter. We are all catching the ride!

I can tell you this. The possibilities are endless and this is seriously an unbelievable opportunity from so many angles.

The more I have learned about crypto currencies over the years and the more I see from the STEEM ecosystem the more confident I am that we will get rich if we play this out right.
