I'm just curious, how stable Steem Dollar is. According to the chart from Poloniex, it is hardly less volatile than Steem. Surprisingly, it still costs more than $1. But there seems to be the only way for it as long as more people are dumping their posting rewards.
Do you believe it is going to stabilize at some point?
The answer is "no." Nothing is volatility proof unless it's the thing by which you measure it. SBD's fail if Steem fails. If it doesn't fail, SBD's SHOULD stabilize, but this is all so new, this economy is untested, so nothing is certain. Be safe!
Thank you very much for the explanation! I'd better stick to Steem Power and BTC then.
SP will be MUCH more volatile than SBD. That's just about guaranteed.
BTC, could be, hard to say.
But SP is more likely to grow and it has a real value (higher paying upvoting). SBD now seems to me equally unstable and with no additional applicability.
The relationships between SP, Steem and SBD is very complex. SBD is more stable than Steem. SP is a better bet if you are bullish on Steemit as a platform. I feel like I am now making things more confusing for you and I don't mean to!
@eeks, a bit off-topic, but could you please tell me: is it profitable to buy a relatively significant amount of SP and then aggressively upvote yourself? No offense please, I'm just curious :)
No, I think I got it. If Steemit fails, SBD fails too. If Steemit succeeds, SBD is going to be near flat, but Steem will rise. SP will rise even more since it is basically ever growing Steem with additional perks of powerful voting.
Unless You really are in need for those money from my perspective as I understood so far, the best would be to pump up the STEEM POWER.This what I am going to do. I am looking at this project as a long term venture.
Ok, thank you for the reply. I have been doing the same for now. But I have also been thinking about holding some SBD just in case.
I think it deppend the steemit increase.
So, if Steemit scales, SBD will skyrocket again? But what about stability?
