That's right Luke. This and more is likely why when you look at steem vs btc over the past year, nearly every coin in the top 50 has outperformed steemit. :-(
I'm somewhat guilty as I have a mix of for profit delegations and community growth delegations. Hopefully everyone can at least find a split too.
Finding a split is at least better than an all out money grab. Even then though, I think evolving to something better will benefit us all. I watch money flowing out of STEEM every week. The only way to change the "for profit" stuff is when enough people get greedy about their potential for future value and convince enough people not to do that (and by convince, I mean flag bot-voted posts and possibly a little social pressure as well).
