if it’s quantity-driven incentive mechanism, really decent content generators might be marginalized; accordingly, it will be much more difficult for new comers to get on readers’ radar, as the “veterans” will always stay on the top of the ranking list.
I feel like i noticed this on my skin as well.
I know what my reward max per post is. I have 1 orca account supporting me and i get a semi regular Dtube upvote.
That is my limit which is the case with many video creators/musicians here.
Now, since my videos take time to make, set up, prepare the song vocally, learn the lyrics, prepare the song for violin, write down some notes if necessary, record it, take it home, edit the video, master the audio as best i can, upload everywhere, etc...
It can take a lot of time to finish.
So you put a lot of work and you just cant compete with those that can post more, write a few hundred words, be more consistent. etc.
Because the reward mechanism is so broken my content is discovered less and the voters dont really have a incentive to vote me. Why would they? I dont write about steem and i dont have a lot of SP.
So really it comes down to doing the least you can as much as you can.
One of the reasons why i only do covers, which still take plenty of time.
If i knew there was even a possibility to get rewarded beyond what Dtube rewards me with and the extremely supportive Orca id create professional grade videos and put in a lot more work.
Unfortunately thats not how STEEM works. :(
