Versions 19.6, and 19.11 of the Steem node software have been released. This update is mainly just bugfixes. The main changes are:
- Fixes a bug where witnesses could create blocks that are too large, causing the block to be rejected
- Fixes a bug that could lead to some data being erased, which would need to be re-downloaded (this bug
only occurred in AppBase versions) - Fixed a bug that caused nodes to use too much CPU when reindexing
The reason for the 2 different versions, is because one is the main, soon to be deprecated version, and the other is the new AppBase release. The new AppBase system allows unlimited post editing, and has some overall speed improvements. Although it's recommended that witnesses upgrade to AppBase, some are still waiting for the AppBase code to stabilise, and ensuring that the upgrade will go smoothly. This is why Steem has two separate releases.
