Here in Korea, according to current exchange rate,
3 sbd can buy 10 ramyons (instant noodle) for self cook of quite satisfactory 10 meals (3 days and 1 more meals !!),
2 brief serviced meals from ordinary brief public restaurant,
or 1 relatively formal serviced meal from normal public restaurant.
And 3 sbd can be quite short for a cup of serviced coffee in some expensive coffee shop.
I guess that high general income or GDP means high living costs.
Here in Seoul, land price and living costs (everyday life price) are twice different just between 2 adjacent villages of 2 kilometers apart, separated by one main road.
