The last few weeks have been an exciting time with a lot of things happening but unfortunately it seems like a lot of us lost track of the actual vision behind steem. The curation of content and real engagement! Instead it´s all been about hunting steem and flooding the space with one bot after the other...
Due to this I´m honestly somehow happy that we´ve entered a bear market as this will make a majority of those free money hunters turn their back on steem. That will allow us to reflect on the happenings, identify the actual weaknesses and get them fixed just before the next run on steem.
We as a Community have to make sure that steem stands for quality content and rewarding real engagement with others. For the success of steem it´s our mission to make sure to eliminate any kind of spam networks and show everyone what this social network is really about.
Now is the time to clean up and we can see it happening already e.g. at @Minnowbooster, @buildawhale or @Steemstem, which are all working hard on cleaning up the space. Might it be blacklisting spammers or rethinking the way to curate from a Community account, every single step that´s taken will bring us closer to a bright future and a high valuation of steem as well.
Let´s all support them and join our forces in order to reach a spam free steem ecosystem that encourages the engagement with each other as well as the creation of quality posts!

Yes time to clean up Steem and make this an even better platform.
Yes @arnel. I totally agree with you.
The more i stay here the more i see money-hungry people, those that cannot even construct a meaningful sentence spamming everywhere in the comment sections, using their bots with alarming regularity.
It really sucks.
This is a nice effort and I know the motive is for the best. I just wonder what "clean" looks like to those so called cleaners. For what I know, the word "clean" is subjective so it might be clean to your view but not to others and vice-versa. Every step should be clearly analyze first before doing this cleaning.
Hope to see that so called "fake followers" disappeare after this cleanup
I fully agree with you that we have to stand united to make steem grow
O my god
Excellent and very nice post.....
Yes, true, nowadays the Bot replies really increasing in the comments section and sometimes the reply is like, your post have copy paste work but the content is created by original authors and these kind of comments can discourage original authors to some extent and this should be stopped and i really agree with you Steemit Platform is an community driven platform and we should encourage the Spam free environment so that the effectivity of this platform can be maintained. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂
You got a point my friend.
Thank you. 🙂
You are right only quality content deserves upvotes.i have seen many upvotes on just a single picture.
Good post.....
@steembusiness this is exactly why I don't worry or Panic when the price of STEEM is down. I just try to be consistent everyday possibly write a post or be engaging with others in my Comments. I have been on STEEM now for almost 2 years and yes we will see them come and go. Don't be like THEM. Just keep on producing Content that others will take an interest in and make Friends by be engaging in your commentary..........
Totally agree with this. The massive bull run in cryptos really attracted a lot of scammers and greed for many took over. It is time to consolidate and than means cleaning house and lifting our community standards to some degree.
Great and inspiring comments. Yes there is much to do here and perhaps the frenzy of the market going away for a bit can get us focused on the business at hand. What changes would you like to see here. For me I would like a more user friendly interface. It is still very clunky with not enough short cuts for common things and the FAQ really needs to be gone over again by someone who thinks like a minnow. Too many holes in it leaving lots of confusion for people like me.
Are the money hunters really gone? I know I am kinda new to Steemit but my experience is quite discouraging to say the least. Thank you for good content. But the bearish situation is not palatable to we the small fishes. :))
I think that this is going to be the way of the crypto world for the foreseeable future. Ups and down s and because of this we have to find other reasons to be here than a rising Steem price. There needs to be more community outreach and support for those trying to do good here and post great content. Any ideas?
@steembusiness Very useful information and thanks for sharing.
Make it the best social network without noise and great content to read.
great post! :^D
i like this content, a lot of people around the world are still skeptical and uneducated about the cryptos and blockchain, it's a great thing for us who knows already that we need to share and spread the word that cryptocurrency is not bad and a great news for all of us in the near future, I sincerely wanna say thank you for your efforts and passion for this crypto knowledge sharing for the people, I do hope you become a big whale someday!
You are right only quality content deserves upvotes in steemit.
Agreed.
Ignore pricing action. Times like this are when we need to focus upon what is actually taking place. What development is being done? What can we each do to improve what we are doing on here?
And yes, what do we take a stand on? In other words, what are our beliefs?
A bear market, even a "good" one, is only good to a point.
I'm relatively new to Steem (brought by @techslut fairly recently), and so I don't know how this platform was when it only started out, but I'm pretty sure you can't take back evolutionary steps. Maybe the fake followers or bots or whatever these are will mostly go away, but things don't tend to "go back to the way they were" - new things are always created. Which is good, right?
