Multiple milestones

in #steem5 years ago

I had this comment from @steemitboard to make me aware that I had hit another round number. I track various statistics about my account, but this is not one of them. I know I hit 20,000 total comments and posts at the time of the London Cryptocurrency Show last year and I have been on Steem for nearly 3 years, so I am fairly consistently making over 10,000 posts and comments each year. That is a little scary.

Comment

Looking on SteemWorld I see I hit some other round numbers in votes recently. I do vote on a lot of stuff, to the extent that I tend to run down my voting power and then have to rest it for a while. I would like it to stay over 80%, but there is always something to vote on, or flag. I do not self-vote these days, with very rare exceptions. I receive an impressive number of votes, but many of those are automated.

Totals

Looking at the SteemitBoard rankings I see I come:

  • 317th by reputation. Some reputations are artificially inflated by buying votes. Mine is more 'organic' and I do not mind it growing slower than it could.
  • 335th by posts. I have cut back to under 10 most weeks and generally once per day. I do not want to flood the feeds.
  • 87th by comments. I know I used to rank much higher before some of the bots came along.
  • 48th by replies. That is impressive and very important. Posting without feedback can be off-putting.
  • 852nd by Steem Power. I think I am doing okay, but a good number of people have built up a lot of SP.
  • 761st by followers. That is lower than I might expect. I know some accounts have inflated their numbers by following thousands who follow back. I know only a few percent of mine actively engage with me.
  • 307th by resteemed. Thanks to those who do this.

@arcange is the man behind SteemitBoard. He publishes daily statistics that I check now and again, mostly to see how the minnow and dolphin numbers are doing. They have stalled a bit. I have @tenkminnows voting up a load of people, but more support for smaller accounts is needed.

I have always said I have nothing to sell on Steem. I am just here for the social aspect and to earn a little something. Having built up my account I am happy to support others. I am not desperate to get rich and money does not necessarily make you happy anyway. If Steem 'moons' then I can do more good as well as treating the family.

How are your stats?

Steem on!

That is great, if you did not do this post then I would not have known I was at spot 5555 for reputation ranking. I do like the cool numbers. I did have some, one or two higher numbers, but I like that nice round number.

That is a cool one. I have some I am waiting to reach, but they happen when they happen. It takes such a long time to add one to my rep these days. Could be a year before I get to 73.

But you'll know you did it your way, and not the bought and paid for low-way.

Congrats @steevc!
Why not use SteemReply to manage so many comments 😉

I've not tried it yet, but I generally keep up with the comments anyway. Thanks for all the great stuff you do.

This platform should be better managed, if you had the patience to post that much it is because this place does have a great potential...

It works for me and there are lots of ways to use it now. It was more of a struggle in the early days

It has diversified the opportunities for users to engage, we have games, videos, polls, blogging... But they all still feel like unfinished products, we need just a little push to have one jewel to advertise the steem blockchain with.

My daydreaming opinion of what it could be is a dapp like WhatsApp, where users chat would be a post on which the conversation goes on indefinitely. Such a dapp should have the economic and financial tools that the Chinese version of WhatsApp has (WeChat). Chinese folks even can pay the subway via a transaction on WeChat with their phones in some cities.

We have the needed technology on the blockchain, all that's left is someone with with enough funds and vision to make it happen... Otherwise, I'm afraid this could bee end up being a mirage ( on a technology level).

What gives me hope is the amazing ties that some communities have between it's individuals, I think that this is why steem has survived the outrageous mismanagement from Steemit Inc.

Best regards.

We do need that 'killer dapp' that will bring people here. It seems the potential to earn is not enough.

Wow, this is cool. I have been getting the @steemitboard comments, but I didn't realize that you could check your rankings, etc. I guess I still have a lot to learn. Thanks for the informative post :)

You have some very impressive stats there. It's nice to see someone successful at just being on the platform and doing what you want to do. Great job and hope it continues for you.

I have invested a lot of time in Steem, but it has paid me back well. If all I got was my trips to Steemfest and my guitar I would be quite happy.

I really want to attend a Steemfest. I'll just have to keep working and accumulating.

That's a lot of comments :)

What can I say? I can't help responding to people. It has helped me build my account and get known.

That is great. But you really pit in some huge effort to hit that 30,000 comments

Sweet stats! How many other blockchains offer such gamification!? One of the many things I love about Steem 👏🏽

We have so many ways to get stats. I would like to play more with extracting data myself with Python, but have not found the time.

wow, that is a bit of activity!

I need to start paying more attention to the Steemit Board posts when they show up on my posts. I usually glance at them and just keep moving along :)
