I didn't realise that, but then I don't look at trending much. I think many people don't see the point of these posts and they don't explain themselves very well. These prominent posts could be used to promote good content that is not getting support. As it stands they look spammy to the average person.

Excellent points. I'm working on a FAQ to give more explanation about @burnpost and we might also do some work to improve the appearence of them.
Here is an idea. It might be a bad one. Just throwing out there. Maybe use Burn Post to showcase some authors? Authors can submit undervalued but quality posts, you choose the ones to include in the post. Can either just showcase a post/author with using part of the content or repost the entire post under Burn Post Journal title?
Will give some exposure to some authors, and maybe even throw in 10% beneficiary to the authors. Also, will make burn post look better and more interesting to visit.
Ideally, though, I would like to see more educational content from you about Steem, as you are among the most knowledgable ones. But that may require too much time and work.
It's probably a good idea. Someone has already volunteered to curate some content to be featured by burnposts. There are a couple of steps in progress before that may get rolled out, but there is a good chance that's where we are heading.
