RE: Satirically Yours S1E10: @aggroed sits down for an interview with @ned and @dan about STEEMIT economics while chained to a basement chair in STEEMIT headquarters

I have to agree with you that it doesn't make a lot of sense. I've been thinking about this a lot, and the amount of people who feel bad about coming here is problematic. I don't know what the solution is. I'm not sure that I would have designed it this way. In fact, I wouldn't have designed it this way. In the beginning, I thought it could work out, but the sheer numbers of people who feel powerless is causing a lot of blood loss. Rewards need to flow from influence, not from a small number of whales. That's what I firmly believe, but since I'm only a user, and didn't build or conceive of this site, i have limited reach. I really don't know how to fix this issue, but it needs fixing, for sure.

I'm honored by your upvote and your thoughtfulness here. I also like the art. "Refined Hooligan" describes the artist, and I'm honored to have it on my page, though I'm not sure I grasp the full meaning of the picture yet (or at least the implied message). Anyway, this place should grow, and currencies should grow. The white paper is pretty excellent, but the execution has led to this. I don't think I should hop on start blogging and be a millionaire from my first 6 weeks here, but I also don't think the distribution should be 1%=97%.

I want @dan and @ned to be rewarded for their exceptional hardwork and creativity. That's how features of this place will expand and the services offered will grow. I want that too. I just want it to change that when some posts get 100 upvotes it's $3 and others with fewer hop up to $500. That steem power needs to be distributed, and I think that will actually incentivize more people to come here because everyone active becomes empowered. I have a scheme for this I invented at palcoin.org if you're interested. Again, thanks for the update, your own content, and making this place better.

Another option is to inflate the hell out of the currency, but at the bottom rather than the top. You may not have to do it indefinately, but central banks intervene when it's necessary. I don't think anyone will mind if the metrics change such that the 59500 small users get rewarded.
