Sending this out to the community as a question. As an open source development organization that also handles things like tech support, and you also tend to see one or more of our staff lurking inside of other project communities as well to see where our assistance is needed. In light of that, is it possible to get our own tag? If so, how do we apply? any assistance would be very greatly appreciated. We've seen it with folks like @phoneum and @utopian_io. If legitimacy is needed with validation, look up our LLC.
@stormlighttech just start using a #yourtag consistently. Put all your info under it and in it. Contrary to popular opinion, tags are not trademarks nor copyrights. You can expect some blending of spam. It's the norm. You can waste time griping about it or you can steadily use your #hashtag and ignore the extras.
you can always search for your tag by going to the url field and typing steemit.com/created/insertyourtaghere. If you are referring to your tag from outside the STEEM platforms, you will need to use that same long URL. When you refer to your tag in posts use #justthetag without a URL.
hope this helps.
Thanks for the clarification, and sorry I didn't see this; Partiko doesn't alert me to things happening on the @stormlighttech account. It doesn't support multiple accounts just yet, which is sad. Anyway, though, so the more tags are used, the more they become main-category tags? Good to know. There needs to be more extensive documentation on tagging, then, apparently.
