RE: Whales - Can the community buy out a portion of your influence?

in #steem8 years ago

First, I found a bug, I think, in the system. I did not come here because of the "@tamim" tag. I was never notified that someone had called me out. I came here by coincidence. Then again, I am not sure if the "@tamim" tag was supposed to notify me?!

Second, I am fairly new here, so to make any type of suggestion or to agree or disagree would be an ill informed opinion. I am getting familiar with this new concept.

So, some things I don't like, even if it is benefiting a whale, and other things I like, even if it is not benefiting a whale.

I would say this much, though, we need to find a way to increase usership. We need to figure out what type of people we want on this platform. So, how do we attract those people.

If we want this place to be the next hang out place for the old and the young, then we need to find a way make this place friendly and not only for those who are tech savvy. We need to find a way to use other social media networks in order to promote ourselves. There has to be such a transition that once people are here, they stay here; not go away because they did not get paid enough.

That being said, the hype of getting rewarded for a blog is good, but when the platform does not delivery on the hype, people will leave. Therefore, the whole rewards and curations and whatnot needs to be reviewed.

People are posting away their lives for free on other social media sites and they have no problem being used. So, why is it that when they come here, they leave because they are not paid enough?

I am not sure what they true answer is to anything I have said. Hence, why I would rather remain quiet for now. Perhaps, the way this platform is designed is the best. I don't want to shoot something down without know what it is really supposed to do.
