STEEM: In Professional Sports???? How About The NFL????

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

Marketers will tell you that word of mouth is the best advertising there is.

All the paid ads in the world do not come close to having the power of one person telling another when the first has the respect from the later. This is why, in sales, referrals, are so important. One has instant credibility when one is referred by someone that is respected.

STEEM's biggest problem is a lack of recognition. To me, I do not consider this a problem at this moment since we are awaiting a few developments. Personally, I would be just as happy to fly under the radar until SMTs and Communities is released.

At present, there are a few marketing campaigns going by some members on here. They appear to be having success on both YouTube and Facebook. I can only presume the fact these two entities are on a censorship rampage makes it easy pickings. Nonetheless, we are seeing great results, especially on D.Tube.

We are also getting a nice influx of organic traffic. According the the Alexa rankings, Google is providing a nice amount of traffic on a daily basis. Ranking in the search engines is crucial. STEEM is helped by the fact there are so many dynamic websites on this blockchain, most which are trending upwards in the rankings. If this continues, STEEM will not be a secret for too long.

That said, how would you like to have an inside track to a group of younger people who are very into social media? Would it also be helpful if these people were known persons? I think the answer is yes to both questions.

STEEM might just received a huge breakthrough. Everything can be looked at as speculative, yet there appears to be an entryway into the NFL. This is something that could be an stepping stone to much greater traffic on this site.

Athletes love social media. It is a way for these young men (and women) to keep in touch with fans. It is rare these days to see one who is not engage in the platform, usually many times a day. This really helps those sites since these individuals tend to have a ton of followers.

Today, to the best of my knowledge, we had the first NFL player join Steemit.

His name is Udochukwu Victor Ochi and he plays defensive end for the Tennessee Titans. After being signed as an undrafted free agent, he suffered getting cut by a few teams before enduring an ACL injury last year.

Obviously Vic is not a household name. He is quickly becoming a journeyman player. The path to the NFL is not always an easy one. I do not know the current pay scale for players who end up on the practice squad but I am certain he is not making Tom Brady money. Thus, he might be the ideal guy to bring STEEM to the NFL.

To start, making a few bucks blogging could help him out. And then this is from his intro post....

I will document and share my wins, loses, blood, sweat and tears on my road back to the NFL! At the same time I want to bring awareness and support to the STEEM community as the community ambassador to the NFL. I hope you enjoy!

Touchdown!!! (Sorry couldnt help myself).

Basically, he wants to help bring awareness of STEEM to the NFL. What better way to access those individuals than via someone who is in the locker room? This could be worth more than 10K ads on Facebook depending upon who he tells.

It is one of those situations where you never know who will end up linked to this blockchain.

Personally, I look forward to the day that Stephen A Smith references an Odell Beckham Jr sex tape on D.Tube.

Only then will we know we have made it.

Publicity will be the key to success after all and lead steem into the focus of the masses. This NFL player might bring some attention on our network and that's definitely a good thing :)

But let's keep the sex tapes where they belong, on Vice and not D.Tube ;)

There are more celebrities here than we know. @preparedwombat pointed out to me that an rather famous actor is also hanging around here.
This is the type of advertising Steemit needs. Suppose that the actor or NFL players mentions Steemit in an interview ... I hope that by them the activation process of the new sign ups is in place. The doors will be open and the flood will come!

That is a great find....I just checked out his post....

This is something that got past me....

It is good to see more people like this joining.

His name is Udochukwu Victor Ochi and he plays defensive end for the Tennessee Titans

Wow, a Nigerian...this is great.

There is one thing you must understand @taskmaster4450, humans love jumping on a moving train. Didn't you notice the influx of people between December and January . That's because the price of sbd and steem where very high and so lots of people were motivated to tell others and that also motivated others to join.

If I want to tell someone about steemit, wouldn't he think it would be a waste of time to come on here, blog and make just a chicken change? He would prefer to do some other things that woukd give him big bucks. But telling people about steemit during December was way easier.

Even people who are on steemit presently are getting tired and are no more blogging so I think we should arrive on getting the price of steem and sbd up again if we want an influx of people into steemit.

@taskmaster4450 - it is not suprising that someone from the NFL is on Steemit. I would not be suprised if other celebrities were also members with concealed Identities that post on here or who are lurkers on our platform.

Steemit will continue its growth in my opinion- given that other platforms (fakebook & MeTube) are now censoring content on their sites and banning users for offering differing opinions. Steemit with it's many ways to reach people is making progress. Keep up the great work, upvoted!

College football all the way 🏈, the NFL is dead to me ☠.

I wish Vic success on Steemit, as I do with all Steemians. Steem to the moon. 😎

I strongly agree with you Thanks for sharing your thoughts keep it up

Your pist very intersting :)

I completely agree with what you have share here.Good Post

I was happy to read this. I saw a post from a professional basketball player just last week. It's good to see Steemit spread. I have been a bit worried since the prices drops it's seems like there is less activity on Steemit.

Definitely steem will moon when famous celebrities and athletes join. Knowing that this has not happened yet there is so much potential with steem. I mean even if John McAfee discusses steem publicly I think it will moon! Thanks.

Now if only we could get Wayne Gretzky on here!

This is great news. The NFL will be a great place for Steemit if word gets around. Like you said, this is worth way more than loads of ads on any site.

That could be huge for Steem and Steemit. I'm going to look up his blog and see what he's talking about. There's currently a lack of sports (specifically NFL) stuff on Steemit and adding that demographic will help increase exposure.
