I found this article through a link so I'm kinda late to the game.
Great explanation of how the voting process works. The visuals help and I think you do a good job of explaining how the people's votes affect their vote value.
One thing I noticed you didn't touch on was that although your VP recovers 20% per day, each vote only costs you 2% of your current voting power. Therefore, if you don't wait for the VP to recharge (the way bid bots do), your vote won't be quite as powerful, but it won't take as much VP. As you can see from the chart I included below, after 10 instantaneous votes, you would only be at 81.7% VP, not 80%.
One of the values of running your VP lower is that it takes much less VP to give a vote. It's a rough way of giving 25% VP votes rather than 100%. The difference is that you don't have the option to give a higher vote, because you're already voting at 100%.
I could give 10-11 100% votes that would be worth .03 - .04 but at this point I feel it's more worthwhile for my followers and for me to give 25 0.01 votes. I get more exposure and more followers get an upvote.
Wasn't sure if you were aware of the 2% being relative. I enjoyed your post and hope to see more from you.
Note: I won't upvote this post as it's long past payout. You post good stuff though, so I'm going to be following and will hit you up there. :)
