upvote services & bought votes are simply a tool which can be leveraged to gain new visibility. However, this is worth nothing if the content behind it isn't good.
That's why I decided that buying votes through @smartmarket (instant vote service on smartsteem.com) should be some what of a null game. It can be profitable - when for example the STEEM-Price rises. But can also result in a loss if the price drops.
And I personally don't believe in get rich quick
. Buying Votes is part of a long-term strategy, which can be used to leverage the way STEEM works right now.

That's not correct. When you buy a vote from smartmarket - you always get what you paid for. No overbidding there.
If the STEEM-price falls, the user loses a bit. If the STEEM-Price rises, the User gains even more profit.
