I can only guess what my great-grandfather must have thought when he took his first steps on American soil, after leaving Poland and then Germany in the aftermath of WW2.
Sadly, I never had the opportunity to talk with him, but what I do know is that he envisioned a better future for my great-grandmother and children (who ultimately decided to stay in Germany).
The American Dream
I probably wouldn't exist if my ancestors moved to America, but I do understand why he decided to go to America because I would have done the same thing.
In comparison to destroyed Germany after WW2, America's economy was in the full up-swing and people from every point of the earth wanted to have a better future, on American soil.
While the American Dream is still alive and kicking, I believe that through the power of the internet and especially blockchain technology right now, borders of countries have become less and less important.
Globalism & Internet
Countries are of course still relevant, but regardless of one's location - everybody can work with everyone over the internet. I can create a booming business right outside of my house, reaching millions of people, without having to move to another continent.
In my opinion, the biggest value we're currently creating with the Web 3.0, is exactly this freedom. And instead of countries, we now have blockchains.
Choose your blockchain or create your own, and start building.
And well... I chose Steem.
The Steem Dream
So in the same way, that America attracted millions and millions of people all over the globe with the hope of making it big, I believe Steem can do the same thing.
I'm not saying that Steem is the best blockchain for everything - obviously not. But what I believe is that Steem is the easiest blockchain to get started for most projects.
Steem has (one of) the biggest active and most concentrated community(ies) in the blockchain sphere.
Honestly, building a project that utilizes Steem is already easy, but launching it and getting thousands of users on top? Even easier. Just promote it and let the word of mouth do the rest.
With that said:
May the 4th year of Steem be even better than all previous years before!

The road to 50$ STEEM is through attracting 1-10k different communities who through holding 10-100k SP can power a user experience on their own website(s) that they cannot accomplish without Steem. Those may sound like high numbers, but they're really not. If we keeping asking "how can we provide a dedicated community willing to make that investment with the most power and the best tools to achieve their own goals", then I'm sure we can get there.
man... $50 is quite ambitious. I am not against it at all I would be relatively rich...
But it is very possible we can be on an S curve and not even know it... if we get just 500 communities or apps or whatever who want 1 million steem power (or equivalent in delegation) then there wouldn't be enough steem power to go around... could get interesting if steem gets adopted to the point the price spikes up due to demand and/or low circulating supply.... I have a gut feeling steem price will TAKE OFF once steemit and ned have exhausted all of their holdings.... weird gut feeling... we shall see
well, you are indeed someone that has succeeded on steem and you deserve every bit of it. Knowing you personally I can say that you are kind and generous but also dedicated.
And you have achieved quite a few things from when you started that small voting bot what seemed so long ago.

Great content brother. I love the optimism and commitment. I am also a deep believer, I have hitched my cart to this train, and I am along for the ride.
I have some other crypto, but this is my flagship. It has so much going for it and so much room to grow.
I really think the utility, functionality, and existing community are make Steem a competitor to the best dapp platforms out, including ETH, EOS, & TRX. Why not? Its dpos, scalable, has a community, decentralized, and has proven itself, including with resisting and overcoming those recent DDOS attacks.

I agree with you, Steem has a huge advantage with its built in community. You don't have to jump to reddit, discord, facebook, or anywhere else.
Your community can stay on the very platform that your dapp runs off. It just feels right!

Countries are just communities based on geography. Thanks to the nature of blockchain, we can now have communities based on more than geography, this will be one of the biggest changes in our lifetime

I've called Steem the "gateway" crypto because I too believe it's an easy place for people to get paid while they pick up and learn crypto. People always used to give crypto faucets a hard time, but that's how I first learned and picked up some Doge, BTC, and LTC.
