Any time you go to a blog, follow a link to a webpage, or even open an email, you run into advertising. It's everywhere. So why wouldn't you, yes you, grab a piece of the action and start earning money from blogging about something you truly enjoy?
Is it possible to earn hundreds of dollars a day? YES! Is it likely? That depends on how much work you want to put into it.
In order to earn over a hundred dollars a day, you would need to set into motion a daily plan that includes writing content and then drawing visitors to your blog. These need to be real visitors with a genuine interest in what you are writing about. You really need to love blogging. It's not just a job, it's a commitment that squashes the 9-5 grind. It's hard work. No one is going to hand you 20,000 hits a day but with so many people spending every spare hour on the Internet, your audience is out there.
Google Adsense is basically a revenue sharing system. In my opinion, it is one of, if not the best. Adsense places targeted ads on your blog where they can be seen by people visiting your blog. If you have ever visited a website and seen an ad for something you shopped for a week ago, you can see the beauty of this system. Someone may be reading your blog post about turning leaves in the backyard into fun interior decor and see an ad for a sweater they looked at on another page weeks before. It's poetry. They make sure that the person seeing the ad is more likely to click it and when they do, you earn money in a few different ways.
The CTR is the Click Through Rate. This represents the number of times an ad is clicked on divided by the number of impressions. ON this post, you may see three ads between the top, side and bottom. That means by visiting this post, there were three impressions.
There is also a cost per click or CPC where you earn revenue every time someone actually clicks on an ad. They don't have to buy anything, they only have to click the ad for you to earn. How much the ad pays is decided by the person who bought the ad campaign. As with anything, it's really about popularity. An ad for a box of paperclips could pay only a penny where as an ad for home refinancing could pay a few dollars. It is the advertiser who determines that number and it is the system that decides what ads are placed on your blog usually.
Moving right along. RPM represents the estimated revenue per 1000 impressions. Some advertisers set their campaign up to pay at RPM rather than CPC and could set their price each 1000 ad impressions. And they pay each time their ads appear on any website or blog, not just yours. You will then see revenue from that.
In order to make $50 Everyday With Google AdSense or $1500 a month, here is a hypothetical. Remember that individual results can and always do vary.
You're a blogger. You blog about _______. It doesn't matter what you blog about as long as people... a lot of people.... read it. For the sake of this scenario, your average CTR (see above) is right at 1% and the CPC discussed above is .25. Those numbers are reasonable.
In order to hit that $1500 a month, you would need between 20,000 and 25,000 Page views or 200-250 clicks a day at 1%. Either you need 25,000 rabid lovers of your blog or you need more than 1 post per day. Realistically, you need dozens if not over 100 articles or pieces of content daily. It is work. It's real work and it pays like real work.
Even $20 a day is $7200 a year.
That's not a bad way to stimulate your own economy! There are other ways to further monetize your blog and I will go into those in a future post. For now, because there is criteria to be met in order to be approved to participate in Adsense, you want to start a blog if you haven't already. People all over the county are earning with Google Adsense. The only difference between them and you is possibly that they knew about it sooner. Now you know.
Here's a takeaway you can read for free or very inexpensively on Amazon:
That is an affiliate ad placed by me. I'll be writing a post about those next week. Stay tuned!
