Hamburg Miniatur Wunderland Part 4 - EN
Hello friends,
After the restful vacation days on a Finca in Mallorca now again with new verve to blogging :-)
In the fourth and last part of the Miniatur Wunderland of the Hamburg Speicherstadt there are still some pictures and information for you. The Wunderland has grown in size in recent years and further expansions are planned. Let's see how this will change in the next years. Due to the large number of visitors it is difficult to see everything or to take beautiful pictures of all models. Due to the moderate entrance fee it is no problem to visit the Wunderland more often.
Here is a short summary of the previous posts on this topic.
In the first part of my report we started with some pictures from "Little Italy" which was finalized in the second part. The third part was about Austria, Central Germany and Knuffingen where Knuffingen is a fictitious city of the Wunderland.
Here are the links to the first three parts of the English series

This last part is about Knuffingen Airport and Hamburg with its Elbphilharmonie. A short excursion also takes us to Scandinavia. The airport area of 150m2 realistically shows the operation at an international airport. The construction of the airport took almost six years, including planning. 45 different aircraft, from the A380 to Cessna, travel independently across the airport and taxi to the gate or runway. There they accelerate and take off. Day and night simulations are also carried out at the airport.
A fairground near the airports
Hamburg is the home of the Miniatur Wunderland and the largest city in the Wunderland. The city is reproduced with 200 m2 from the Volksparkstadion to the Elbphilharmonie. Other replicated sights are Hagenbecks Tierpark, Köhlbrandbrücke, Michl and Speicherstadt.
Scandinavia is the largest and most technically versatile section in Wunderland to date. The focus is on the Northeast Sea, which is filled with 30,000 litres of real water. The sea is navigated by various ships. The ships are currently still steered manually until a suitable system for automatic steering has been developed. The section is 300 m2.
